Week Ending - November 7

Seven inspiring projects, seven talented makers! Quilting, crochet and baking links to inspire you to create, every day of the week!

Happy Sunday lovely, how has your week been?

This week social media has been a flurry of people decorating their homes for Christmas. Our family tradition is to put the tree up on December 1st - when do you put up your decorations? I think the tree would annoy me before the festive season had even begun if I put it up now. What's your thoughts?

I'm more than happy to get an early start on holiday projects though, so this weeks Week Ending post is full of wonderful Christmas projects to inspire. Let's go:

  • I love the Vintage Red Truck Christmas Crochet Blanket from Nana's Crafty Home. This is a free pattern and a combination of two patterns I believe, and the blanket is so cute. It's a single crochet pattern with lots of links, video tutorials and tips to help you out, and you could make these for gifts or to decorate your own chair by the fire. So fun!
  • You'll love these adorable Holiday Mittens on the American Patchwork and Quilting website. What a great way to add something personal to gifts this season. It's a free pattern and you'll be making more than one I'm sure.

  • If you've started planning your Christmas dinner menu, you might want to include this Homemade Candy Cane Pie from OMG Chocolate Desserts. This looks so delicious and one of those desserts you know you're going to over indulge on. Go check it out!
  • If farmhouse is your vibe, then the An Evergreen Christmas pattern from Maple Cottage Designs will be perfect for you. This is available as a PDF instant download in her Etsy shop and there's instructions for a quilt and a pillow sham. Very sweet and pretty!
  • If you're looking for some handmade additions to your tree this year, then the Whoot has put together a post of Crochet Christmas Ornaments that are just the cutest. There's links to all the patterns and there's so many wonderful ones to choose from.

  • Quilters Digest has a tutorial for these lovely Fabric Pinwheels and you could make them for gifts or to decorate your tree. They are quick and easy and they add a whimsical touch to your decorating. Give them a try!
  • And lastly, The Spruce Eats has a comprehensive tutorial on How to Make a Gingerbread House from Scratch. This post covers everything you'll need to know to make it a fun experience and there's lots of photos, videos and tips to guide you through. Bookmark this one!

And that's it for another week. I hope you've found something to create for Christmas!

I'll be back very soon with a cute little Christmas pattern that's sure to delight! Until then, enjoy the rest of your Sunday lovely, and stay safe and well! :)

Happy Week Ending :)
