Seven inspiring projects, seven talented makers! Quilting, crochet and baking links to inspire you to create every day of the week!
Happy Sunday lovely! How has your week been and how did June get here so quickly?
I started the Harvest Flower Blanket from last week's Week Ending post. I shopped my stash for this one and made a few colour changes - blue is my favorite colour but I just wasn't loving it in this autumn inspired blanket. It's working up very quickly and it's a mindless, repetitive project that allows me to find my flow and simply create.
I've also been working on two new block patterns, and I know it's been a while since I shared any new patterns, but life has been challenging lately. It's the season of life we're currently in, so any small addition to my pattern family makes me feel accomplished.
Let take a look at the projects I found for you this week:
- The Wallflower Quilt from Pen and Paper Patterns is beyond stunning. If you grew up in the swinging sixties or the groovy seventies, this quilt will take you back to retro floral wallpaper and bold, bright colours. This pattern is available as an instant PDF download or a paper pattern and there are fabric kits available.
- The Winter Wheat Crochet Sweater pattern from Briana K Designs will add texture and elegance to any outfit. It has a soft snuggly drape, and it uses Colour Theory yarn from Two of Wands (my favorite yarn designer). This looks fun to crochet, and I know the perfect person to make it for - our daughter!
- We're having friends over today for an easy toastie lunch and board games, so I've made Chocolate Hazelnut Mascarpone Cups using the recipe from Tara's Multicultural Table for dessert. I have made these before and they're delicious and a sweet way to end a simple meal.
- The Makers Stash has a wonderful tutorial for the English Paper Piecing Five Point Star. She walks you through her process with helpful tips and she shows you how to sew a Star Coaster. There's also a pattern for a kaleidoscope block for you to download as well.
- Briana from Briana K Designs has another Colour Theory project you'll love. The Gemstones Hue Granny Stitch Blanket Pattern is a free pattern with a video tutorial and its vibrant, clever and the perfect project to work on to calm the mind. It's a repetitive pattern, easy to adjust in size and a great way to show your colour work skills.
- A Pull Apart Baklava Cake? Yes please! This recipe from Delicious Australia looks amazing and something you'll want to share with everyone. Full of pistachios, honey and filo pastry, this cake will delight your guests with very little effort required.
- The Daisy Flower Crochet Coaster Pattern from Cozy Yarn Vibes is such a sweet pattern and a great way to add some sunshine to your home. These would make lovely gifts, or you could applique them to blankets, cushions or hats or add a key chain and brighten up your keyring.
And that's it for another week! I hope these projects inspired you to create in the days ahead.
Enjoy the rest of your Sunday lovely! Stay safe and well :)
Happy Week Ending :)
