***Giveaway is now closed***
I'm super excited to share a new pattern with you today by a fellow Australian quilt designer Ali Phillips from Arabesque Scissors. I've been following Ali on Instagram for quite awhile now and her attention to detail shows just how much love goes into all of her beautiful creations. Her feed gives you that warm fuzzy feeling and I fall in love with every photo she shares and everything she makes ♥She has just released a new pattern called Bunny Patch and her pillow is just exquisite. You are going to love this:
Isn't it adorable? Its a fantastic project for fussy cutting and I love its soft scrappy look. It would make a sweet addition to a babies nursery or what little girl wouldn't love one for her bedroom?
Ali has used Bunnies and Blossoms fabrics from Penny Rose Fabrics and its such a pretty fabric line. The bunnies are adorable but those tiny strawberries are just gorgeous. I love the colour palette and how nicely the prints all play together.
I love that Ali has chosen to close the pillow with ties; they are a great example of her attention to detail which I mentioned before. The soft bows give the pillow a lovely finish and a pretty feminine feel, and the inner pillow flap hides the pillow insert from view.
Ali asked me to read over her pattern prior to release and when I opened the file and saw the first picture, there was a gasp! I instantly fell in love with the pillow and she very kindly allowed me to make my own version.
I used my Dollhouse fabrics and it really changes the look doesn't it? Maddi and Michael are renovating their bedroom so I thought I'd surprise them with a pillow in colours to match their new decor. As I was sneakily sewing the pillow, Maddi was sending me photo's of paint colours and things they were buying and I knew the pillow was going to work so well with their choices.
Ali has written a very thorough and informative pattern to help you with every step of the process in making your own version of Bunny Patch. I love the layout of her patterns, they are just as pretty as the actual project :) It's a great pattern for confident beginners and a wonderful way to introduce some traditional piecing methods.
You will really enjoy sewing your own version of this pillow. It comes together quickly and easily and its a great way to use some of your much loved fabrics or an excuse to source some pretty bunny fabric of your own.
The Bunny Patch PDF pattern is now available in Ali's Etsy shop HERE and while you're there be sure to check out her other gorgeous patterns as well.
Now for the fun part. Ali has very kindly offered one of my readers the chance to win a free copy of the PDF pattern in a giveaway. I'm not going to make you jump through hoops to enter, just leave a comment on this post and I will randomly choose a winner next Friday (May 11). In return, can I ask that you also visit Ali's blog to say "hi" and tell her how amazing she is :) I know Ali will appreciate you popping over and then you can see all of her beautiful creations for yourself.
Thank you so much Ali for sharing your pattern with me. I've really enjoyed our email chats and the chance to get to know you a little better. I can't wait to give my pillow to Maddi and Michael, they haven't seen it yet but I know they will love it :)
I thoroughly enjoyed sewing my own version of the gorgeous Bunny Patch pillow and I'm sure you will as well ♥
