Week Ending (August 19)

Happy Sunday lovely! I hope your week has been amazing and if no one has told you yet, everything you did this week was truly appreciated ♥
This weeks Week Ending list is full of pampering ideas... just for you. In the hustle and bustle of life,
we forget to take care of ourselves, so this is just a little reminder:

  • As quilters, we need to look after our neck/shoulders and back and the Wellness Mama Blog has a great article on DIY Reuseable Rice Heat Packs. We've all seen them before (you probably have one in the cupboard) but her tutorial includes tips on how to use them hot or cold. If your not sleeping well, give her tip a try! There's also a link to a very professional looking one that looks great and would make the perfect gift.

  • At times we can be our own worst enemies and I ordered two copies of this book Mastering Your Mean Girl by Melissa Ambrosini; one for me and one for my daughter. We let our fears hold us back and it robs us of our creativity, our confidence and a happy, healthy life. Maddi and I are reading it, discussing it and implementing this book into our daily lives :)
  • Starting your morning well is important and sets the tone for the rest of the day.  This Feel Good Smoothie Bowl is delicious, healthy and packed with essential vitamins and nutrients. Make the time to start your day the healthy way, your body will thank you.
  • Pretty bed linen makes your bedroom feel inviting and peaceful, and Lisa from A Spoonful Of Sugar has a Hexie Pillowcase tutorial which you will love. Everything Lisa makes is gorgeous and her pillowcase has a decadent feel which will hopefully relax you into a deep, restful sleep.
  • Plan a date night with yourself. Mark the night on your calendar, lock the bathroom door, pop one of these DIY Bath Bombs in a tub full of warm water and relax. I love this quick and easy recipe from the 1 Million Women Movement and these bombs make great gifts for your girlfriends.
  • At times life can feel like we're running in place and achieving nothing. Sherri from A Quilting Life has some fantastic tips for Getting More Done, specifically in the sewing room but I think these tips will help with all areas of our life. Its all about using our time more efficiently, and achieving our goals helps boost our mental health and creativity.
  • Pretty things enhance our mood, and Sedef's gorgeous Strawberry Pincushions will instantly make you smile. Not only are they adorable but she has used her Summer Blush fabrics which are hitting shops now (YAY). The original pincushion tutorial can also be found HERE.

I hope this weeks list reminds you to take care of you. Don't ever feel guilty for taking time out for yourself or for surrounding yourself with things you love. You're totally worth it!
Happy Week Ending :)
