Week Ending (April 28)

Happy Sunday creative peeps! Things have been a little quiet on the blog this week but I've been super busy working on a few exciting things to share with you really soon. We've had school holidays for the last two weeks but tomorrow everything goes back to normal - including 6am wake ups :(
I've did found some great projects for you this week, so lets take a look:

  • Since its back to making school lunches I thought this Milo and Weet-Bix Slice might be a nice treat for Cohen. It includes his two favorite ingredients (Milo and Weet-Bix) so I can't go wrong really. :) I piece with my morning coffee might be nice too so... win win!
  • I've had this Peek-A-Boo Crochet Blanket pattern in my file for quite some time. I pledged to only crochet with the yarn I have in my stash this year, but since I have no self control I might go yarn shopping for this blanket. It looks super snugly and warm and with our long cold winter on its way I think we need another crocheted blanket. ;)
  • While we're talking crochet, do you have trouble reading patterns due to unfamiliar abbreviations? All Free Crochet has a Crochet Abbreviations Guide which is a great resource for any crocheter and it will hopefully make crocheting easier. It also includes stitch and instruction abbreviations so make sure you head on over and download the PDF's.

  • I love pre cuts but sometimes its difficult to know what to do with them. Emily Bailey has this gorgeous Railways quilt as a free pattern on the Moda Bake Shop website. Its the perfect way to showcase some pretty charm squares, especially from your stash of leftovers and you could use Jelly Roll strips too. If you need to make a gorgeous quilt in a hurry then this pattern will be perfect for you.
  • We had friends over for lunch yesterday so I tried this Poppy Seed Dressing on our garden salad, and everyone loved it. Its a rich, flavorsome dressing and I love the earthy taste of the poppy seeds. This could be my new go to dressing recipe.
  • Do you have a vintage sewing machine that has yellowed? My mums old Pfaff is in desperate need of a little TLC and Kim from Go Go Kim has an article on How To Make Yellow Plastic Look New.  This could be a game changer for all our old machines - I've yet to try it on mums machine but cross fingers it works!
  • And finally, have you seen the new Chelsea fabrics from Stephanie Ryan? Oh my, I'm in love with these watercolour prints! They are stunning fabrics and the blue's are perfect. Look out for this range in August.

And that's it for another week.  I hope you find some time to be creative today - its a good way to relax and refresh so you're ready for the new week ahead. I'm releasing a gorgeous new mini quilt pattern on Wednesday and my April Bookshelf post is coming on Thursday so make sure you pop back in for both of those posts.
Enjoy the rest of your Sunday :)

Happy Week Ending :)
