365 new days, 365 fresh starts, opportunities, days to dream, endless possibilities and new chances. It's a time to leave the past behind us as we look towards better things to come!
The first thing you'll notice is the cover is exactly the same as the 2020 one. To be honest, I played around with different covers, but I didn't love any of them as much as I love this one. Let's call them a matching set and have a look at some of the changes I did make to the calendar pages.
I chose quilt blocks as my theme this year, and all the blocks are from my Classic Quilt Blocks series which I know you love - you've learnt about them, sewed them and used them in projects, now let them decorate your sewing space.
I used a soft palette of colours this year because I think 2021 needs to be calm after our tumultuous 2020, don't you? I read an apt quote the other day - "I will not accept 2021 until I have reviewed it's terms and conditions" ;) So true, we deserve a much better year!
There's still lots of room to write in the calendar boxes or add some stickers for birthdays etc., and I did include some inspirational quotes.
I chose short quotes this year because I thought we could use them as daily mantra's or at the very least keep them forefront in our minds as we navigate another year.
The only other change is the Note and Project sections at the bottom. I loved the sticky notes from 2020 but I wanted something more streamline and clean for this year's calendar, and I think these work better. You can use these to record your finished projects, and for any other notes you need to keep yourself organised and productive each month.
I love putting these calendars together for you, and I use mine to record the blog posts I plan each month. I also pop one in my mum and daughters Christmas gift, and it's a gift that keeps giving all year.
I had mine printed at Officeworks, and I always choose a silky cardstock to make it looked polished and professional, but you could print them up on your home computer with any paper you have.
You can also print the months as you need them and put them on the fridge or the family noticeboard for everyone to use - laminating them would make them sturdy and durable.
I'm a little afraid of what 2021 might bring, but at least we can make it pretty with a fun sewing calendar, right? Let's hope it's a much better year and one full of happiness and sewing.

DeleteHow do I download for a professional printer to print my calendar? It won’t download to a file. Do I print it first and then take it in?
ReplyDeleteCarol NC
If you click the download button it should open a PDF file for you to save. Alternatively you could set your printer to Cute PDF and hit print and save it that way. If you're still having problems email me and I'll send you a file to save :)

ReplyDeleteBeautiful calendar. I am wondering if you have a version that has the Sunday as the beginning of the week like most calendars here in the USA do? (Sorry, not sure where you are located, and NOT trying to insult you, just having Sunday at the end of the week would be very confusing when every other calendar on my wall and my computer have it at the beginning, lol). Just found you site over the summer for the Bird in the Air quilt. Regardless of whether you have an alternative version, thank you for sharing your quilting and this pretty calendar.
ReplyDeleteHi Carol, no I don't have another version but I will consider it for next year (I understand we all like things a certain way). I'm in Australia and our calendars come either way down here, I just prefer the weekend in a block at the end. I'll try and do two for next year :) Have fun with the Birds in the Air Quilt - it's so pretty and I'm sure you'll enjoy working on it :) Take care :)
