Week Ending - August 8

Seven inspiring projects, seven talented makers! Quilting, crochet and baking links to inspire you to create, every day of the week!

Happy Sunday lovely! How have you been?

There's definitely a buzz around the internet at the moment, with seasons in both hemispheres coming to an end - those in the north are excitedly anticipating the coziness of fall, while those in the south are ready to jump into spring! Personally, both of these seasons are my favorite, and thinking about the projects and activities that come with them excites me!

This weeks Week Ending list has lots of fun projects to inspire both upcoming seasons, so let's go:

  • Amber from Gigi's Thimble is holding a Autumn Glow Sew Along and it all starts on August 23rd. The Autumn Glow pattern is gorgeous and she has a few mock ups to help with fabric combinations, plus a discount code available when purchasing the pattern. Go check it out!
  • I've just planted my pea seeds for this year in the greenhouse, and I've book marked the Chilled Spring Pea Soup recipe from Food and Wine to try when I harvest. You can use frozen peas but there's nothing better than peas picked straight from the garden.
  • Add some seasonal scents to your home with this list of the Best Fall Candles for 2021. Some of these sound so good you wanna eat them, but if candles are not your thing then have a look at these Essential Oils for Autumn.

  • If you're a fan of Boho, you're going to love the free Knot Macrame Blanket pattern from Yarnspirations Design Studio. This blanket suits both seasons and even though I love this neutral colour, it would look pretty in soft pastels for Spring and rich earthy tones for Fall.
  • We're starting to see the trees fill with pretty pink blossom but why not crochet some to enjoy all year around? The Sakura Cherry Blossom pattern from Happy Patty Crochet is available to purchase on Etsy and comes as a PDF file for you to download and print. So pretty!

  • How about this cute Acorn Quilt Block from Hey Let's Make Stuff for your Fall decorating? It's such a simple but pretty block and you can make a cushion like Cori has or add it to your quilting projects. She has a great tutorial with lots of photos to help you and you could make a few of these quite quickly!
  • And to end the week, you're going to love the Any Kind of Fruit Galette recipe. Choose cherries for spring or apples for fall, or use whatever fruit you have right now. I love a simple galette recipe and this one can be baked all year round by switching out the seasonal fruit. Enjoy!

And that's it for this week! I hope you found something fun to try!

For the first time in almost three months everyone is feeling well at the same time, so we're throwing on the winter woolies, grabbing a picnic lunch and we're off to explore the great outdoors.

Enjoy your Sunday lovely! Stay safe and well!

Happy Week Ending :)
