Week Ending - February 9

Seven inspiring projects, seven talented makers! Quilting, crochet and baking links to inspire you to create every day of the week.

Happy Sunday lovely! I hope your week has been creative.

My Cricut got a workout this week as I created for Valentine's Day. Handmade cards, t-shirt decals, lolly bags, decorations and colouring books will inject a whole lotta love into our grandchildren's day, and I can't wait to celebrate with them.

School starts tomorrow for our grandson and we're quite excited to see him in his new big boy uniform. No shame but there will be tears as he embarks on this new and exciting school life journey.

Let's take a look at the Valentine's Day projects I found this week. I hope they add something sweet to your celebrations:

  •  A quick one-hour project is the Crochet Heart Dishcloth Pattern from Jo to the World. Cleaning the kitchen will feel special and you can use this pattern for decorative purposes as well - add a hanger to give your oven some love or use as a mug rug on your desk. It's cute, multi-purpose and on my list to create tonight as I watch a cheesy romcom.
  • Sew some pretty Valentine's Day Mini Treat Bags using the free tutorial from She Quilts Alot. They're the perfect size for baked treats, small gifts and a wonderful way to showcase your favorite Valentine's fabric. Simple and quick, you'll have a batch ready in no time.

  • For Valentine's Day dinner, hubby and I have opted to dine at home, and I've added the Single Serve Red Velvet Cake from Bake With Zoha to the menu for us to share. Something small was required and I think this will end our meal on a sweet high without being too heavy. Can't wait!
  • I also considered the Heart Shaped Red Velvet Cheesecake recipe from Molly's Home Guide. The rich pairing of chocolate cake and the creaminess of cheesecake sounds appealing, and I've bookmarked this one for another night. It looks fancy but the recipe seems easy and a good one to have on hand when you want to show a little love to your guests.

  • The Jars of Love Block Pattern from Carla Henton is a stunning applique block suitable for all your quilting projects. There's a comprehensive tutorial to guide you along and this quick and pretty block will spread the love this Valentine's Day.
  • Crochet the sweet and romantic Free Cute Hearts Wall Hanging from Divine Debris. This project is a great way to decorate, and the free pattern contains only the graph if you're confident with this style of crochet. You can also purchase a written pattern in her store if you need additional instructions. So fun and super cute!
  • A last-minute gift idea for someone special (or for yourself) is the Homemade Valentine's Day Sugar Scrub recipe from The Rebel Chick. Too often we're thinking of everyone else and neglecting our own self-care or self-love, and this scrub will guarantee some quality alone time to recharge. It also looks very pretty in the bathroom and smells divine.

And that's it for another week! I hope Valentine's Day brings you lots of love and reminds you how cherished and special you truly are.

Enjoy the rest of your Sunday lovely! Stay safe and well :)

Happy Week Ending :)
