Week Ending - June 29

Seven inspiring projects, seven talented makers! Quilting, crochet and baking links to inspire you to create every day of the week!

Happy Sunday lovely! I hope your week has been creative and fun!

I'm simply going to share a highlight from my week. It was one of those cosy rainy days and Miss Iris and I turned a simple lunch into a carpet picnic. We packed snacks, fruit, sandwiches, cakes and chocolate into the picnic basket, threw down the picnic mat, cushions and throw blankets, found a quiet ambient forest video on YouTube and served up lunch for her mumma and brother when they returned from an appointment.

Life is chaotic, messy, scary and loud, so we have to create special moments to remind us of what's important and to seek the peace we all deserve.

Let's see the projects I found for you this week:

  • The Nana Flower PDF Quilt Pattern designed by Lena Hoa is breath taking. This one block pattern design is beginner friendly, includes time saving tips and the simple design creates a stunning quilt with endless possibilities in fabric selection. I love this! Patterns are available for purchase at Maylily Quilt.
  • Mitten season is my favorite, and I loved the Arched Gusset Heart Mitten Pattern from Vetka Knit. This is a free knitting patten with various sizes and they will add that special cosiness to your hands during winter. The little heart detail was the selling point for me.

  • The Sherlock Holmes Foggy London Tea Cakes recipe from Hollywood Recipes are buttery treats perfect for our winter afternoon's. Imagine yourself snuggled up reading a mystery novel or watching a Hitchcock film and filling your soul with a traditional British treat. Yum! We're having a slow Sunday, and these are on my list to bake today!
  • You know I love a good crochet coaster pattern and Crochet Bits has the Free Crochet Petunia Flower Coaster Pattern available on their site which I can't wait to try. This spiral shaped coaster looks fun and easy and there is a video link if you need extra help.

  • How stunning is this Inner Beauty Quilt from Southern Charm Quilts? It's a combination of a sampler and a trip around the world quilt and its suitable for a confident beginner to all quilting levels. The colours of this quilt alone have me wanting to make it and it is available to purchase as a PDF pattern, a paper pattern and a kit. Beautiful!
  • I was searching for inspiration to bring eternal spring to Miss Iris's bedroom (I was thinking a curtain of delicate flowers) and fell down a rabbit hole of crochet privacy curtains - there are so many options. This La Puree Cafe Curtain Pattern from Gosyo was one of my favorites and it offers privacy but is still delicate and pretty. The free pattern is for a chart only but looks easy to follow.
  • Because it's soup season, I like to bake different breads and rolls to accompany our meals, and I've bookmarked the Cheese Bread recipe from Good For Recipes. This is a quick and easy no yeast bread recipe that everyone will love. It looks comforting and delicious and a great no fuss bread when your time poor.

And that's it for another week. I hope these have your creative hands itching to make something beautiful.

Enjoy the rest of your Sunday lovely! Stay safe and well :)

Happy Week Ending :)
