Seven inspiring projects, seven talented makers! Quilting, crochet and baking links to inspire you to create every day of the week!
Happy Sunday lovely! I hope your week has been kind and creative.
I've had a productive week in the garden planting more roses and two weeping cherries. These ornamentals will burst into cascades of pink blooms in spring, and I can already imagine how beautiful they will look when the season changes. Our daffodils are poking through the soil, the snowdrops are flowering, the hellebores are a profusion of beautiful colour and I've begun planting seeds in the glasshouse.
Even though the garden rests during winter, there are treasures to be found and numerous tasks to accomplish to ensure a successful and colourful spring/summer.
Let's take a look at the projects I found for you this week:
- Knot Today is a clever quilt pattern from Its Sew Emma. The inter woven design is created with only three 5" charm packs and this would be a lovely stash buster quilt as well. Patterns are available at 123 Stitch for purchase and I'm sure you'll find many uses for this design.
- Tonight's dinner is the Cream of Herb Soup from Soup Chick. It's an aromatic herb garden in every bowl and the core of comfort food during our winter months. It looks creamy and decadent with fresh flavours that are sure to satisfy even the fussiest soup eaters.
- The Beautiful Floral Granny Square Blanket from Annie Design Crochet is exactly as it says - beautiful! Bright, fresh colours and textured popcorn stitches make this vintage inspired blanket such a favorite. This is a free pattern with the option to purchase an ad free version, and I think you'll love this.
- In 2022 Southern Charm Quilts ran a quilt along for the Attic Window Quilt and this is a wonderful stash busting project. The simple blocks set with alternate plain blocks give this quilt a vintage feel and perfect for those new to quilting. The quilt along blog posts are still active and you might want to check this one out.
- Tara's Multicultural Table has a recipe for Karleksmums (Swedish Coffee Cake) that sounds delicious and is high on my list to bake next week. It's a light chocolate cake topped with chocolate and coffee icing and sprinkled with coconut. The recipe is quick and easy with basic ingredients, and it looks moreish.
- How sweet is the Embroidered Strawberry Jam Cover Pattern from Make N Stitch? Adding something hand stitched to your home baked goods makes them extra special and thoughtful. The tutorial and pattern are free to use but you will need to sign up to gain access to the free pattern library.
- For fellow garden lovers, I started following My Nature Diaries on YouTube you can't help but be amazed with her work. She shares wonderful and honest tips, tutorials and inspiration and she has me opening a new journal and starting one my own. I wasn't looking for a new creative hobby, but it does combine nature and watercolour so how could I resist.
And that's it for another week. I hope these projects inspire a creative week ahead.
Enjoy the rest of your Sunday lovely! Stay safe and well :)
Happy Week Ending :)
