Week Ending - November 2

Seven inspiring projects, seven talented makers! Quilting, crochet and baking links to inspire you to create every day of the week!

Happy Sunday lovely! I hope you had a wonderful Halloween and a creative week.

It's time to think about Christmas projects and for the first time ever, I'm not in the head space for this festive season. 2025 has felt like a whirlwind and I've landed in November with no idea how I got here so fast.

I need to jump into the magic and spirit of the Christmas season and do some planning. Do you feel the same? Hopefully these projects will inspire us both.

Let's go:

  • I love Mary Berry recipes, and I've added her Gingerbread Traybake to my list. It's soft, spicy and sticky, it keeps moist for a week and gets better with age, and it's quick and easy. It's a one bowl mix and packed with that gorgeous Christmas flavour. Yum!
  • Irina Tsokalo has a stunning Crochet Christmas Tree Ornament made from a simple granny square. This project is so clever, and it would make a sweet gift for neighbours and friends or decorate your whole tree with handmade yarn ornaments. There's a You Tube video included as well to help you succeed in making your own.

  • Silent Night, Shining Bright is a stunning quilt pattern from Jenny Bowker. The ornaments glisten against the dark backdrop and it's a gorgeous design. This is a paper pieced pattern and available as an instant download in her Etsy store. You'll love this one!
  • Scones are a crowd favorite, and I want to try these Christmas Scones from Happy Home Baking. They're filled with cinnamon and walnuts and dusted with a light coating of icing sugar. Save this recipe for when visitors are arriving or to enjoy as you watch those cheesy Christmas movies all season long.

  • MJ's Off The Hook has a free tutorial for her Loopy Tree Ornaments and I love these. They'll add a little whimsy to your festivities and the sparkly yarn will make these shine under the twinkling lights. Another simple yet fun crochet project to work on before the season arrives.
  • The Christmas Tree Star Quilt Pattern is all over my Pinterest and if you haven't seen this gorgeous block from Quilt Instructions you might want to check it out. The star sits proudly in the centre of the gorgeous scrappy tree, and you could use this block in so many projects - a whole quilt would be stunning. Definitely one to add to your list.
  • The Fable Cable Crochet Christmas Stocking Pattern is another wonderful project from Michelle at MJ's Off The Hook. They're chunky, textured and suitable for the more confident crocheter. They will add some warmth and tradition to your mantle this Christmas and you could personalise them in so many unique and creative ways.

And that's it for another week. I'm feeling inspired, how about you?

Enjoy the rest of your Sunday lovely. Stay safe and well :)

Happy Week Ending :)
