In past years I shared my free FPP Striped Heart Block and my free FPP Striped Heart Block - 2 pattern to use in your Valentine's Day projects and you loved them. I thought it would be fun to add another block to the collection during this wonderful month of love.
The FPP Striped Heart Block - 3 is another gorgeous block that's modern and fun and you can sew a block in under thirty minutes with a few scraps from your stash.

The FPP Striped Heart Block - 3 pattern is available as a free download, and the PDF file includes FPP templates for four block sizes - approx. 4", 6", 8" & 10" (finished). They are the same sizes as the previous two block patterns, so you can use them all together.
The blocks are scrappy and paper pieced in two templates, making them quick and easy to sew. You will need to have knowledge of foundation paper piecing and if it's a new technique to you, you can start with my tutorials here:
Just a note on the templates included in the PDF file - the templates for the 10" block are spread over two pages due to their size. You will need to join the templates with heat proof tape or glue prior to sewing the block. I have tried to place the joins at a point that is easiest for you.

The FPP Striped Heart Block - 3 would look amazing in any colour palette, and I'm sure you'll have fun playing with different combinations. I used Bonnie and Camille fabrics again and you have to agree they make the prettiest hearts.
I think you'll find uses for this block in a variety of projects - hearts are not exclusive to Valentine's Day - and combined with past year's blocks you will make some gorgeous projects.
Add them to quilts, make coasters or placemats, a table runner or a cushion or use them as a focal block on gift bags. The possibilities are endless and even if you don't sew them right now, keep them in your files for future projects.

I have included assembly instructions in the free PDF download as they're pieced in two units, but I haven't included fabric requirements - these blocks are meant to be scrappy, and the fabric requirements vary depending on the block size you choose.
I also included a colouring sheet for you to plan your blocks prior to piecing and two inspirational diagrams of all three FPP Striped Heart Blocks set into mini quilts to inspire you.
