Week Ending - May 10

Seven inspiring projects, seven talented makers! Quilting, crochet and baking links to inspire you to create every day of the week!

Happy Sunday and Happy Mother's Day lovely!

Our autumn sunrises and sunsets are spectacular at the moment. I linger in the garden with my morning coffee captivated by its colourful serenity and as I close the curtains at night, I'm in awe of the intense colour palette that fills the sky as we say farewell to another day.

Inspired by these magical moments, this week's Week Ending post has a sun theme. I looked for projects that shone light and joy into our homes and our creativity.

Let's go:

  • Hello Sunshine is a free C2C crochet Afghan pattern from Evelyn Peter Crochet. It's dramatic and colourful and it will bring those gorgeous vibes to your home. Choose a colour palette based on what you see when you greet each day, capturing its beauty and brightening your inner world.
  • Dandelions - some people see weeds; some people see sunshine. They're sunshine to me so the Dandelion and Honey Ice Cream recipe from Crisp Taste is top of my list to try. It captures the warmth of sunshine and creates a unique ice cream combination. Yummy!

  • The Sunset Landscape Quilt Block Pattern from Patterns By Kia is a stunning FPP block pattern that captures the end of the day perfectly. This pattern is available in her Etsy shop as an instant download, and it includes two sizes - 15" and 20". Beautiful, versatile and a fun pattern to sew.
  • The Ray of Sunshine Coaster and Mandala Pattern from Camilla Baroe is stunning. The pattern is free to download on Ravelry and both items will add warmth and light to your home. They're delicate, intricate and they have a vintage feel.

  • The aromas and flavours of citrus encompass sunshine and the Irresistible Lemon Pistachio Cake from Melany Recipes brings it to life. This is a cake to share and add some light to the lives of those you love. It's zesty, nutty, moist and a flavour sensation.
  • For something fun and quirky you'll love the Rainbow Sunshine Mini Quilt from Ameroonie Designs. It will add cheer to any space and such a rewarding project. The pattern is available from her Etsy shop, and it finishes at 20" square making it versatile for cushions, quilt centre's etc.
  • And lastly, The Sunshine Day Crochet Block Pattern from Stouto Creative will brighten any day. It's textured and bold, colourful and modern and its available as a free pattern - ad free versions are also available.

And that's it for another week. I hope you found something to create that will add light and joy to your life.

Enjoy the rest of Mother's Day lovely and take some time tonight to sit and watch the sunset. You won't be disappointed.

Happy Week Ending :)
