Seven inspiring projects, seven talented makers! Quilting, crochet and baking links to inspire you to create every day of the week!
Happy Sunday lovely! I hope your week has been kind and creative.
How is it May already? Mother's Day is fast approaching, and this week's post is full of wonderful ideas for the mums in your life. Showing them how important they are to us can be as meaningful as a handmade gift, something home baked or time spent together.
Let's see what I found this week:
- The Crochet Sun Hat from A Crocheted Simplicity is a chic accessory for the outdoor mum. Perfect for beach trips, time in the garden or a casual stroll in the park. The pattern is very well written, and you need to know two stitches to recreate your own version.
- I'm hosting an afternoon tea for Mother's Day and on the menu is the The Old-Fashioned Apple Cake from Mary Berry. This cake is so easy and amazing - it's not too sweet, the apple is soft and delicious, and the topping gives the cake a lovely crunch. A great recipe to make the day before.
- The Quilted Picture Frame from Gingercake is a wonderful gift idea for Mother's Day. The link to purchase the PDF pattern is in the post and she's included three free printables for you to download, print and include in the frame or you could add your own photo or special message. A fun idea that's easy to sew.
- If you're hosting this Mother's Day or you need to contribute to a celebration, take a look at the Charcuterie Board round up post from Wine With Paige. There are eight wonderful ideas perfect for breakfast, brunch or casual get togethers or sharing with loved ones.
- The DIY Teacup Pouch Bag from In Sewing Times is perfect for the tea loving mum. She'll always be prepared with her favorite teabags stored in her purse, car or picnic basket and who doesn't love a zipper pouch. The tutorial is free and there is a link to a YouTube video.
- I absolutely love the Lace Scarf with Flowers Pattern from Kristen Holloway Designs. It's delicate and lightweight and the added ruffles give it a shabby chic look but omit them for a classic and elegant look. The pattern is free to use and there are detailed photos for how to crochet the lace at the end of the post.
- If you've got the time, why not sew mum the Easy Vintage Girl Quilt Pattern from Pieced Brain. This beginner friendly pattern is quick and clever and would look stunning in any fabric combination. The PDF pattern is available in her shop as an instant download.
And that's it for another week. I hope you found a project or two to create for Mother's Day.
Enjoy the rest of your Sunday lovely. Stay safe and well :)
Happy Week Ending :)
