Week Ending - July 19

Seven inspiring projects, seven talented makers! Quilting, crochet and baking links to inspire you to create every day of the week.

Happy Sunday lovely. I hope your week has been kind.

It's school holidays here and I've enjoyed a fun week with Maddi and the grandchildren. I love tagging along on their adventures and seeing the world through their eyes - you're never too old to be amazed by our magical surroundings.

I thought this week we could look at projects for kids, so let's go:

  • The Flower Fairy Blanket from The Moule Hole is a free crochet pattern and it's sure to delight. The body of the blanket is simple but effective and the added flowers make this blanket super sweet. The pattern looks easy to follow and there's also a matching collection of skirt, cardigan and bonnet for you to try as well.
  • We tried the Air Fryer Apple Fries recipe from The Fervent Mama, and these were a hit. We served them with a selection of sauces and custard, maple syrup, ice cream and whipped cream and the grandchildren loved to help prepare and coat the apple slices. A fun rainy afternoon activity that was super yummy!

  • Magic Yarn Pixels has a Crochet Bluey Blanket Pattern free on their blog and if your grandchildren are like mine, they will be obsessed. This is C2C crochet, but you can use the graphs and choose whatever stitch you like. The written directions are also included (bonus) and it makes a big, bright, and fun Bluey blanket!
  • The Mini Chocolate Chip Muffins recipe from Build Your Bite was a wonderful snack to bake for a little road trip we took. They were perfect for the car ride and little fingers. They're a healthier option and there weren't many left at the end of the day.

  • Apples and Beavers has an amazing post detailing how she made this Dragon Dreams Quilt - isn't it stunning? This is a combination of three patterns, and she has linked each one in the post and they are all available for purchase. At the end of the post, you'll also find a unicorn version as well which I just love.
  • How magical is the Amigurumi Unicorn pattern from Jackie Lang? It's fun, cheeky, cuddly and whimsical. The pattern is free to use, and I envision myself crocheting a few of these because our grandchildren love unicorns and a blessing of unicorns is something special.
  • The Easy Patchwork Dog Quilt from Heather Davis Quilts is a beginner friendly quilt using traditional piecing and its adorable. There are three sizes included in the pattern and PDF patterns are available as an instant download in their Etsy store.

And that's it for another week. I hope you found something fun to create for the kids.

Enjoy the rest of your Sunday lovely. Stay safe and well :)

Happy Week Ending :)
