Week Ending - July 5

Seven inspiring projects, seven talented makers! Quilting, crochet and baking links to inspire you to create every day of the week.

Happy Sunday lovely! I hope you've had a lovely week.

I found my first daffodil of the season earlier in the week. It looks so small and sweet in the bareness of the winter garden, and it's been battered by heavy rains but still radiating dramatic colour and standing proud - the resilience of nature.

For this week's post I wanted to pay homage to all things small and sweet and decided on a woodland theme. I hope these projects inspire you:

  • Knotted Up In String has a free Whimsical Woodland Wonders C2C Blanket as a free pattern on her site and this is super sweet. There are twelve blocks to crochet and the hedgehog is adorable. It's a lovely project to gift a new baby or to add some sweetness to your home. I love it.
  • The Easy Nutter Butter Acorn Cookies from Pink Peppermint Design require four ingredients and are super quick to prepare. These would make a fun after school treat, or they'd add a touch of sweetness to parties or gatherings.

  • Elly from Tulip Black Rose has the cutest Woodland Friends FPP Quilt Block Bundle in her Etsy store. There are twelve blocks to sew and they're so playful and fun. They're versatile and a wonderful addition to your block collection - perfect for cushions, novelty quilts and more. Make sure you check out all of Elly's designs as she has kindly given my readers a 20% discount on her whole store if you use the code THREADBARE20. I hope you show her some love!
  • Amigurumi lovers will adore the Hedgehog PDF Pattern from Creative Fabrica. He is the cutest and the pattern is free to download. He's finishes at approximately 4" tall, and he'd add a touch of woodland to any space.

  • If you're hosting a woodland themed party or simply want to add a touch of whimsy to your week, the Vegan Tree Stump Cake from Addicted to Dates might be perfect. It's a chocolate sponge with coffee buttercream and decorated with the cutest meringue mushrooms. Love this!
  • The Deer Baby Quilt Pattern from Unique Baby Gear Patterns is adorable! The cuteness and simplicity of this design is everything and I want to make one of these. This is an applique and traditionally pieced pattern and free for you to use.
  • The DIY Kids Pouf - Log Slice Pillow Tutorial from Swoonsdon Say would make a fun addition to playrooms or nurseries. Choose some gorgeous woodland themed fabrics and add the applique squirrel or embroider the tree ring design. So fun and cute.

And that's it for another week. I hope you found something fun to create.

Enjoy the rest of your Sunday lovely. Stay safe and well :)

Happy Week Ending :)
