Seven inspiring projects, seven talented makers! Quilting, crochet and baking links to inspire you to create every day of the week.
Happy Sunday lovely! I hope you've had a creative week.
Tomorrow its December! I'm not one to wish time away but I'm excited to bring Christmas to our home. Our tradition is to decorate on the first day of December and it's a whole day affair. I'll bake cookies, hang garlands, play carols, decorate the tree, delight in the twinkle lights and flickering candles, wrap the presents, and when it's all done, I'll enjoy the ambience in my Christmas pyjamas with eggnog and a cookie as I watch "Love Actually".
Do you have decorating traditions that you look forward to?
I found some wonderful projects for you this week, so let's take a look:
- Having friends over for a pre-Christmas catchup? I've bookmarked the Crispy Flatbread with Cranberries and Brie from Amelia Bites for an effortless meal. Paired with walnuts, hot honey and fresh herbs, these flatbreads look festive and delicious. Serve with a glass of wine and a simple salad and sit back and enjoy the spirit of the season.
- The Mosaic Soft Snow Pattern from Crochet Hooks and Magic is a stunning free pattern I'm sure you'll love. The pattern is very comprehensive, and there's an ad free version available at a small price. The block is perfect for Christmas blankets and cushion covers, and the snowflake is delicate and super sweet.
- Patchwork and Poodles have a free tutorial for the Lone Star Quilted Christmas Stocking and I love these. The Lone Star block can look intimidating, but this tutorial has clear and concise instructions and photos which walk you through every step, creating a 14 1/2" block. There's also a link to the stocking tutorial and you have everything you need to make one of these gorgeous stockings for yourself.
- Yarn Society has the absolute cutest Free Reindeer Gift Buddy Crochet Pattern for you to try. This little guy is perfect for holding a gift card and Christmas chocolates and he's going to spread some holiday cheer this season.
- I mentioned I'd be making cookies tomorrow and the Soft Ricotta Italian Christmas Cookies With Almond Glaze from As Cook As You Can are at the top of my list. I can make the dough today and bake tomorrow, and I have a new set of tiny snowflake cutters I'm eager to try, so this recipe is ticking all the boxes.
- Our grandchildren have Christmas aprons, and our local discount store had the cutest puffy chef's hats which paired perfectly that I couldn't resist. They make baking with nanna fun and if you want an apron pattern for your little ones then check out the DIY Children's Holiday Apron Pattern from Crafting Cheerfully. Super cute and a great gift idea for budding chefs.
- Cute little stocking can be used all over the house for decorating and the PDF Christmas Felt Ornament Pattern from Simply Eilene is festive and sweet. The pattern is available in their Etsy shop as an instant download, and I can see these being addictive to create.
And that's it for another week. Have fun creating for Christmas.
Enjoy the rest of your Sunday lovely. Stay safe and well :)
