Week Ending - December 14

Seven inspiring projects, seven talented makers. Quilting, crochet and baking links to inspire you to create every day of the week!

Happy Sunday lovely! Are you enjoying the Christmas season?

Our life has been full but wonderful. From work dinners to seeing the grandchildren visit with Santa the festivities have kept us busy and happy, and there's more to come. It's a magical time but also quite tiring. Tonight, I'm indulging in a Christmas spa night in my own bathroom - Nanna needs a recharge.

How are you dealing with this busy season? I hope you're taking care of yourself.

I found seven wonderful projects for you this week, so let's go:

  • I made a batch of Christmas Morning Gingerbread Waffles from Midwest Nice Blog earlier in the week and these were delicious. They're freezer friendly so I have frozen some for Christmas morning and they made the whole house smell festive. We enjoyed them with whipped cream and some freshly picked strawberries from the garden. So good!
  • Crafting Happiness has a gorgeous Crochet Poinsettia Square Pattern for you to use for your Christmas projects. She's provided a video tutorial and written instructions, and this 3D block is a stunner.

  • I love the Reusable Fabric Christmas Gift Tags on the Baby Lock website. This pattern can be easily adapted to add your favorite festive applique or embroidery stitches, and they add a handmade touch to your gifts. I think you'll have fun with these.
  • Traybakes are perfect for the holidays so add the Festive Christmas Fruitcake Traybake recipe from Yummy Yolk to your list. This one can be made a few days before required and gets better with age, and it's loaded with fruit and topped with marzipan and fondant. Perfection!

  • Give any mug a festive feel with the Christmas Crochet Mug Cover Pattern from Crochet 'N Create. When you see how many seasonal mugs end up at the thrift store, it makes you rethink what you buy and gift. Adding a cover to a mug each season is better for your pocket, the environment and your yarn stash, plus this pattern is super cute and free to use.
  • I found a bunch of gold frames at the thrift shop earlier in the year and filled them with Christmas prints to add around the house. My favorite was this adorable Free Printable Santa Wall Art Print from the Cottage Market, so I printed two - one for each grandchild's room. This Santa is so sweet and Iris and Landon love him. A quick festive craft that can be changed every year.
  • And if the silly season is exhausting lovely, be merry and mindful with these 75+ Christmas Self Care Ideas from Navigate Mindfully. It's a comprehensive list and perfect for this time of year. We might make it look easy, but creating fun and spreading joy can be exhausting and you deserve to look after you as well. Indulge yourself.

And that's it for this week lovely. I hope these projects inspire you.

I'm signing off for the rest of 2025 to be present with my family and friends in this hectic lead up to Christmas. I'll be back in January, and I can't wait for us to create together.

Enjoy the rest of your Sunday lovely and have an amazing Christmas season.

Happy Week Ending :)
