Week Ending - January 4

Seven inspiring projects, seven talented makers! Quilting, crochet and baking links to inspire you to create every day of the week!

Happy Sunday lovely and welcome 2026!

I saw a quote on Instagram that said 2025 was like having open heart surgery while you were still awake and I couldn't have said it better. It was a difficult year but onwards we go!

Are you a goal setter or resolution maker? I'm being practical and simplifying my hopes, dreams and aspirations for 2026. However, I do have one exciting endeavour - I'm studying Botany and Plant Science this year. I'm super grateful for this wonderful new experience.

Do you have something exciting planned for 2026?

My first Week Ending post of the year is always the QAL's (quilt along) and the CAL's (crochet along) I've found, so let's see if any of these inspire you:

  • Sonya from Blackstone Designs is hosting the 2026 ReStitch Crochet Along and this sounds fun. She has refreshed a lot of her older patterns, and every month she'll re-release one with new yarn suggestions, updated photos etc. and you can complete a project. Think home decor, gifts, seasonal items etc. Share your finished item using the hashtag for your chance to win the $50 monthly prize.
  • The 2026 Mystery Quilt Along from Stitch in Heaven is free to join and includes two mystery quilts for you to choose from. Tiffany Hayes and Rob Appell are the hosts, and you simply need to register to join in. All the details are in the You Tube video. Fun!

  • The Tunisian Blanket CAL 2026 - Neev Blanket from Arunima at Knitter Knotter is stunning. Fifty panels make up this gorgeous project, and the designs are fresh and intricate. If you're a lover of tunisian crochet or you'd like to learn a new skill, definitely sign up for this CAL to create something modern and stunning.
  • Tomorrow the A Quilting Life 2026 Block of the Month begins, and Sherri always runs a fun quilt along. The 12" blocks are designed for the confident beginner, and you'll find video tutorials each month on her YouTube channel. You can download the PDF Fabric Requirements today and start creating tomorrow.

  • The True Blue Quilt Along (Winter 2026) from American Patchwork and Quilting is a stunning scrappy patchwork design that runs for eight weeks (Jan 15 - Mar 11). You will need to either purchase the magazine or PDF pattern to join in, and you can still work on this throughout the year at your own pace. A gorgeous design from Lissa Alexander.
  • The British Country Garden Blanket is the 2026 Crochet Along from Elimee Designs on their You Tube channel. Ten designers, eleven sections and overlay mosaic crochet bring this gorgeous blanket together. If you love flowers, garden and nature this one is for you.
  • And lastly, the 2026 Stitch Sampler Scrapghan Crochet Along from Hooked on Homemade Happiness is a wonderful opportunity to learn new skills and create a fabulous project. It also features a garden theme, and you'll learn fifteen different stitches with video tutorials for guidance, and it all begins on the 9th of January.

And that's it for this week. I'll post any more I find in future Week Ending posts. I hope these projects have inspired you to plan a creative 2026.

Enjoy the rest of your Sunday lovely! Stay safe and well :)

Happy Week Ending :)
