I was going to wait a bit longer to post my progress on the Log Cabins, but im just so excited about this quilt I have to share NOW lol:
I have pieced together 12 of the required 30 blocks and im just so in love with it (beware, ull see more pics as it goes together!!!!)......its one of those quilts u want to "take ur time with" but also want to finish it all quickly so u can see it!!!
I havent commited any of the blocks together yet, just so i can make sure i have evenly distributed all of the fabrics. And the piles of loggies r slowly getting smaller........they r no longer a BOB, they r almost a quilt.
I would really appreciate some suggestions for the quilting!!! Its booked into the quilters and id like to have some idea of what i want, before she confuses me lol....i was thinking about some detail in the lighter bits, maybe something with scrolls........but im open to suggestion (actually im begging for suggestions!!!! lol)
On a different note, Susan has kindly awarded me with the Nice Matters Award:
(isnt that pic just gorgeous???) She is such a sweetie and her work is just amazing. now im supposed to pick 7 people to give this award too.......I have met so many lovely, supportive, absolutley amazing people through blogging. They have given me confidence, advice, support and friendship. I treasure each and every comment or email, left for me and 7 awards r just not enough to go around, so im giving mine to all who visit and read my ramblings.
Take care
Rose xxx

I liked the blocks individually--but together the blocks are just stunning....
ReplyDeleteOh, sweetie! They are so great!!! I love, love, love them! Quilting suggestion, hm? Off my head - feathers in the light sections and in the ditch in the darks (or the other way around); I'll let you know if I come up with something else :o)
ReplyDeleteIt is beautiful. I love the simplicity of log cabin blocks and how you can do so much with them. My quilting suggestion is some motif in the light squares (diamonds?) and then scrolls around the diamond.
ReplyDeleteWhatever you do, I'm sure it will be gorgeous. I'm looking forward to more photos!
You should be happy and excited with it - the quilt looks wonderful. You have worked so hard on it!! Show us lots of pictures :))
ReplyDeleteRose your quilt is striking. I have no idea about the quilting but whatever you decide it is going to look great. Is it for your bed?
ReplyDeleteI couldn't picture exactly what this would look like, but I love it! I can understand why youd be so excited about posting your progress. I've never seen this done before, and now I'm tempted to do one, even though they are too tiny!
ReplyDeleteOh, and a quilting suggestion. Depending on the talents and desires of the quilter person - definitely something with curves. Baptist fan, if nothing else. Feathers going up and down those light pathways would be beautiful, too. Or leaves diagonally across the rows. Something that follows those diagonals would be my first choice.
ReplyDeleteWOW1 It is breathtaking! Sooo nice. Keep up the good work, and you'll soon be done.
ReplyDeleteI like our blocks Log Cabin!
ReplyDeleteKind Regards,
Sonnja
This is such a lovely quilt. The colors are great. The scroll work in the dark and a motif in the whites sounds like a good plan to me!
ReplyDeleteI received my pattern! Thank you so very much.
ReplyDeleteI love the colors you choose. :}
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely quilt you have in the making! LC will always be on my favourite list :-)
ReplyDeleteLog cabin is my absolute favorite block. This quilt is a real winner. Great colors.

ReplyDeleteSarah
Absolutely gorgeous! Thanks for sharing this beauty.
ReplyDeleteYour quilt is so pretty. I havent attempted anything where I try to plan colord across a quilt yet. Can't wait to see it finished.
ReplyDeleteAs for quilting what does a log cabin make you think of? Maybe an all over tree motif of some sort.
I love those log cabin blocks! How big are they? I am working on a log cabin quilt with 4" blocks but yours look even smaller. Eek! Thanks for stopping by my blog today.
ReplyDeleteBreathtaking! I can see why you are excited about this project! Your color combination and block layout is stunning.
ReplyDeleteWhat a gorgeous quilt! I love log cabin quilts and really need to make another. This is quite inspirational.
ReplyDeleteHi Rose - this is the first time I've visited your blog - the log cabin blocks are beautiful and I love your stitchery house
ReplyDeleteWell, I couldn't have waited to post this if I were you either. Isn't it wonderful! I won't get tired of seeing pictures of this beauty.
ReplyDeleteThis is stunning and I just love the layout! Looking forward to seeing it all finished!
ReplyDeleteOh what a lovely quilt this will be! Wonderful! Today I've made some new SBS blocks, still the simplest ones....but now I've printed out a lot of paper piecing blocks. You have still winter down there? When is spring? We are facing autumn now...Well, I think we're quite lucky to have these four seasons, they are charming all of them. Have a nice weekend!
