Around The Garden

During the summer months we spend the majority of our time outdoors, especially mealtimes, so our dining table doesnt get used much. It was time to design a quilt to pretty up the table...

This is "Around the Garden" a simple pieced and appliqued quilt. Ive used In the Pink 2 fabrics which are so pretty and I think it brings a touch of summer into the house.

The applique is only on the corners of the quilt so that your fruit basket or vase of flowers can sit in the middle. The pattern is almost finished, so stayed tuned for a giveaway in the next few days!!
Around our garden, things are a little grim due to the extreme heat we have experienced over the last couple of weeks but our apple tree is loaded with fruit and ready for some serious baking:

Our thoughts go out to all those Aussies who are experiencing the worst bushfires, heatwaves and floods at the moment. The loss of life and property is tragic and hopefully that much needed relief comes quickly!!

My sympathies on the fires, it must be terrible to know that these things are happening and not be able to do anything about it. Hugs to all of you!!

  9. such a pretty table topper - I have thought lately that I need to make one from my scraps as well - yours looks really good I might model one after it if you don't mind. I will print it out and put it aside. It won't be the same color and the applique won't be exactly the same - but you get the drift --

  15. The is such a cute little table topper Rose. What do you mean by the pattern almost finished? Are you designing the pattern - I was trying to see what part of the table topper wasn't finished - then I thought it might be you mean the actual pattern! It is lovely.

I am glad to hear you are safe - the fires and the floods sound just terrible - I have been seeing pictures and videos on the news here in Canada. Take care!
