Week Ending (April 29)

Happy Sunday lovelies! Its the last day of Term One school holidays today, so we are having a lazy Sunday and enjoying the calm before the storm ;). This next term will feel really long because it's cold and miserable.....not looking forward to it at all.
I have some fun links for you today, so lets have a look at what made my Week Ending list this week:

  • Have you ever found a tear in one of your quilts and been unsure how to fix it? There's a great article HERE with a solution.  There's a link to the bonding powder in the article (for Amazon) and Australian readers can source it HERE. If anyone has used this powder, leave a comment and share with us how it worked. I'd be interested to know :)
  • There's another great article HERE which talks about the four common machine needle and thread combinations. I thought it was a great resource for beginners but also a handy reference for everyone.
  • This Cinnamon Streusel Coffee Cake had me all excited when it popped up in my news feed, and it has a glaze :)  I need an excuse to make this one, hmmmm......You can find Martha's recipe HERE
  • Ashleigh from Sewrella has another new free crocheted wrap pattern and this time she has used a Mandala cake yarn. I've wanted to try a Caron cake yarn and this might be the pattern for it. You can find the free pattern HERE. In related news (and an extra link), Ashleigh and her husband have started their own hand dyed yarn business and the yarns are delicious. Check them out HERE.
  • Over the years I've inherited extra children (my children's best friends) and my kids have inherited extra mum's (their best friends mum's). I like to buy these mum's a little gift for Mother's Day to thank them for all the meals they cook, the sleepovers they host and for making my kids part of their family. I found these cute fabric boxes HERE which will be perfect to fill with fun little items. I like to include things like nail polishes or lipsticks, eye shadows, seed packets or bulbs, lotions, sewing supplies, pretty notepads, pens, kitchen gadgets and stickers or scrapbooking supplies etc.
  • And speaking of cute gift ideas, this DIY Seed Packet Organizer would make a lovely gift for the gardening mum. Seed packets are easily misplaced but having them all in the one place will keep they dry and accessible. You can find the free pattern HERE.
  • Lastly, I have a link that will have you taking over your hubby's workshop. I love working on woodwork projects with Les and this Farmhouse Inspired Toolbox is next on my project list. It looks manageable for me (with back up from Les) and it will be a great decorating item for the house. You can find the tutorial HERE. I might even make one for my mum for Mother's Day; with the addition of some pretty mason jars it would be perfect for cut flowers etc.

And that's it for another week. I hope you found something that interests you. Enjoy the rest of your weekend and I hope you find a little time to be creative :)
Happy Week Ending :)
