Week Ending - May 2

Seven inspiring projects, seven talented makers! Quilting, crochet and baking links to inspire you to create, every day of the week!

Happy Sunday lovely! How has your week been? I hope you've found time to be creative.

I've been teaching all week. I'm working with an online sewing group in England who are learning to paper piece, and about to start their first mini quilt. Plus I gave crocheting lessons to a local group eager to create colourful granny square blankets for those in need this winter. I love teaching people new skills, but these ladies filled my heart with their generosity and selflessness!

I did find you some wonderful projects to create, so let's go:

  • Skip to my Lou shared a tutorial for these gorgeous Handkerchief Sachets for Mother's Day. This is a wonderful upcycling project using vintage hankies and a sweet gift for mum. If you have a stash of pretty hankies, give this project a try!
  • Looking to buy a new sewing machine? Amy from Diary of A Quilter has a great post on How to Choose a Sewing Machine. She has lots of advice for making the right decision for you, and she shares her thoughts on some of the bells and whistles that you might not have considered.

  • Love and Olive Oil shared a Stuffed Cherry Amaretti Cookie recipe which looks divine! They're soft and chewy and stuffed with cherries, and I'm adding them to my list for our Mother's Day luncheon. Can't wait to try these!
  • I need to restock some crocheted baby blankets in my shop, and I fell in love with the Mesh and Bobble Stitch Blanket pattern from Daisy Farm Crafts. You guys know I love all their patterns and they're so easy to follow. Hoping to get a version of this on the hook soon!
  • I also want to try the Coconut Flour Cookies from Katie at Chocolate Covered Katie. These are meant to be a cross between a soft gooey cookie and a coconut macroon. They're healthy and look delicious and I might try these this afternoon.

  • I'm in love with the Ava Kate Daydreams Quilt from Material Quilt Girls. Isn't it gorgeous? There's a video tutorial plus a free written pattern for you to download and sew yourself a fun and pretty quilt. Go check it out!
  • And lastly, how about these Heart and Sole Crocheted Slippers from My Hobby is Crochet. Mum would love a pair of these for Mother's Day and there's a video tutorial plus written instructions and a graph to make it easy for you.

And that's it for another week. I hope you found something to inspire you!

I have so much on at the moment and I'm not sure if I'll be able to post next week, so to celebrate Mother's Day I'm running a PDF sale in my Etsy shop:

Simply use the code LOVEMUM at checkout and receive 20% off your total purchase (includes sale items). You can visit my shop HERE.

Enjoy the rest of your Sunday lovely! I'll be back soon! Stay safe and well!

Happy Week Ending :)
