Week Ending - August 15

Seven inspiring projects, seven talented makers! Quilting, crochet and baking links to inspire you to create, every day of the week!

Happy Sunday lovely! I hope your week has been a kind one!

Spring is popping up all over the place, and the bulbs I planted earlier in the year are starting to fill my pots with gorgeous colour and fragrance. I've been out in the garden a lot this week, and I gave my new garden apron from The Aussie Gardener a bit of a test run. I love it because it has a phone pocket that closes so your phone doesn't slip out while you're working! If you like supporting small business, then head over to their site and check out all the other fun things they have in stock!

If gardening is not your thing, let's have a look at the projects I found for you this week:

  • Do you listen to Podcasts? For all things quilting, I love A Quilting Life Podcast with Sherri and Chelsi. For all things garden and homestead, check out Azure Farm Podcasts and if you just need some motivation and valuable insight, check out Magic Lessons with Elizabeth Gilbert. Listen while you're sewing, baking, driving or relaxing in the tub! These are my top three, but add yours in the comments to share with all of us.
  • Allison from Woodberry Way is hosting a High Tide Remix Sew Along and this quilt is gorgeous. The sew along is running for five weeks, and the design would look great in any scrappy combination - think about the holidays coming up later in the year and make an early start. All the details are on her blog.

  • I cooked these Battered Banana Pancakes from Joy the Baker for breakfast yesterday and yum yum yum! So simple, but so delicious and we pretended it was spring and ate them on the patio (it was a little chilly but that's OK). Try them for yourself!
  • I fell in love with this Sunflower Pillow Cushion from Annie's Catalogue. I have a friend who grows beautiful sunflowers every year, and I'm thinking I might make her this as a Christmas gift to put in her hammock. The pattern is available as a PDF download and it looks fun!
  • My grandmother would be so thrilled to know that bed jackets are making a comeback. They're not my thing, but they remind me of her and Craft Gossip has a list of 6 Bed Jacket Crochet Patterns for you to try. They're sweet, lacy and pretty and they take me back to those lazy breakfast in bed mornings with my nan.

  • The very talented and inspiring Pat Sloan has a Free Bats and Boos! + Spooky Sampler running on her blog ready for Halloween. This looks so fun and I adore the quilt. Head on over to Pat's blog for all the details and to download your free patterns.
  • And tonight I'm trying the Balsamic Chicken recipe from Cooking Classy. This looks so easy and who doesn't love anything marinated in balsamic vinegar? I think I'll serve it with roast vegetables but it would be work perfectly with salad and crusty bread! Can't wait!

And that's it for another week! I hope they get you creating!

Enjoy the rest of your Sunday lovely! Stay safe and well!

Happy Week Ending :)
