Pumpkin Spice Donuts

We've been enjoying the cosiest autumn here in Australia and I've been making these Pumpkin Spice Donuts on repeat. I wanted to share the recipe with you and you can either bake them now or save it for your own autumn season!

Fluffy, spicy donuts with a sticky, sweet glaze and chopped pecans - is there anything better?

We've embraced and enjoyed every moment of this cosy autumn season, and I've been baking Pumpkin Spice Donuts on repeat. I know that it's almost summer where some of you live, so save this recipe for your autumn season - they are sooooo delicious!

Home baked donuts are so easy to make and these ones rival any you buy from the donut chains. They're soft and fluffy, full of heartwarming flavor and they make your soul happy!

I thrive in autumn! I love the crisp weather, the shorter days, the profusion of rich colour and softer light, and the way life slows down after a full and eventful summer.

Autumn feels peaceful! You can still enjoy outdoor activities, but you're layered up in cosy knits, reading time means snuggling under blankets or quilts and everything from the kitchen smells hearty and warming.

The aroma of these Pumpkin Spice Donuts alone is intoxicating and their delicious spicy flavor and sticky, sweet glaze make them a favorite in our house. They're also a great way to use up some of our seasonal butternut pumpkin and because they're baked, they're not as naughty. ;)

Pumpkin Spice is not available where I live, but I tried this recipe a few years ago and it quickly became a pantry staple:

Pumpkin Spice can be used to flavor donuts, muffins, pancakes and pies. Movie nights become cosier when you sprinkle some on your popcorn, and for something extra delish, add a little to your brown butter sauce when make pasta - yummo!

You can also add it to your coffee or sprinkle it over your vegetables before roasting. It's versatile, aromatic and adds an autumnal touch to all your kitchen creations.

The glaze is flavored with maple syrup and it's sticky and sweet, pairing perfectly with the pumpkin and spices of the donuts. I add a sprinkling of chopped pecans but they're optional.

It's a quick and easy recipe to make and your whole house will smell heavenly for hours!

This recipe makes twelve baked Pumpkin Spice Donuts and they're perfect to take on foliage drives, autumn picnics and to pack in the family's lunchboxes.

I've been baking these donuts all autumn and they encompass every scent and taste we enjoy during this beautiful season.

I wish autumn would last forever, but since it's here for only a brief time you have to enjoy every sight, scent and feeling it brings, right?

I hope these Pumpkin Spice Donuts make your heart happy and add something special to your autumn season!

Enjoy!
