Seven inspiring projects, seven talented makers! Quilting, crochet and baking links to inspire you to create every day of the week!
Happy Sunday lovely! I hope your week has been kind.
December first is decorating day in our household. The tree goes up, the gifts are wrapped while enjoying eggnog, freshly baked cookies, and the uplifting harmonies of Christmas carols. I live for this day every year and when everything is twinkling and the house feels festive, we can settle into the magic of the season.
When do you decorate for Christmas?
I did find some lovely Christmas themed projects this week, so let's go:
- The Nordic Christmas Tree Amigurumi from Raffamusa is a free pattern for a cute tree ornament that you're going to love. You can also use them for gift tags, key rings and around the top of a bottle of wine or the stems of flowers. Such a fun pattern and very well written.
- The Chocolate Drizzled Ravioli Cookies from Taste of Home look elegant and delicious. The filling is made from crushed Oreo cookies and cream cheese and once baked they are drizzled in chocolate and sprinkled with more cookies. Yum!
- If you love the farmhouse look, French Creek Farmhouse has a tutorial for you to create. Her Farmhouse Fabric Star Garland is rustic, homey and perfect for that cosy, family friendly style. A fun and quick project that adds a festive touch in a subtle way.
- Polka Dot Chair has a free tutorial for Making A Fabric Kimekomi Christmas Ornament. These are so pretty, and the fabric is tucked in a Japanese doll making technique. It's a great scrap buster and the ornaments are puffy and gorgeous.
- The Angels Ornaments from Selimut-ku are super sweet and such a fun project to work on with the children. This is a free tutorial, and it looks easy to follow. You could embroider names on these and personalise them to suit every family member.
- A must bake for the holiday season are the Butter Pecan Cookies from Baker by Nature. These cookies are packed with flavour and each bite is super chewy, crunchy and delicious. I made these cookies last year and they were devoured very quickly.
- The Mini Christmas Wreath is a free crochet pattern from MJ's Off The Hook and it's a quick and easy make that looks like lots of fun. There is a video tutorial to help you and it's tiny but oh so sweet.
And that's it for another week. I can't wait to dive into my Christmas boxes and start decorating the house. I'm baking a batch of the Butter Pecan Cookies and soak up all the festive feels.
Enjoy the rest of your Sunday lovely! Stay safe and well :)
