Week Ending - January 19

Seven inspiring projects, seven talented makers! Quilting, crochet and baking links to inspire you to create every day of the week!

Happy Sunday lovely! I hope you've had an enjoyable week.

Is there anything better than a summer thunderstorm? They're sudden and intense and the smell of rain on dry earth is refreshing and makes you feel positive and renewed. We've had two impressive storms this week, giving us a brief respite from the summer heat.

I've been busy in my sewing room working on some new designs for this year and I've spent my nights crocheting granny squares for an autumn inspired throw. I'm feeling inspired and ready to create! :)

I also found seven wonderful projects for today's post, so let's go:

  • The Brancaster Messenger Bag from Charlies Aunt is inspired by vintage fisherman's bags. It features an asymmetrical flap and front pocket with an interior pocket and divider. Perfect in any fabrics and practical for all occasions, this bag looks elegant and fun to sew. The PDF pattern is available for purchase in her Etsy store.
  • I've had a persistent sinus infection this week, which also caused a very sore throat, so I tried the Cinnamon Sore Throat Tea recipe from Life Currents, and it worked so well. It was easy to make, tasted amazing and it really soothed my icky throat. Bookmark this one for a quick and easy home remedy when you're not feeling the best!

  • Divine Debris has a free pattern for this adorable Mushroom Love Wall Hanging. The mushroom caps have little love hearts scattered around making this the perfect project for Valentine's Day or to gift someone special. This is a colour work project using single crochet plus she has some Instagram reels linked in her post to help you with colour changing.
  • The Blocks and Stars Quilt Block is a free pattern from Fabric 406 for a 12" finished block. This traditional block pattern is versatile and so pretty and there are some inspirational layouts to show you how to use the block. Very pretty and perfect for those planning a new scrappy quilt.

  • Tonight's dinner is the Chicken Piccata from The Cozy Cook. Lemon and chicken is such a classic combination and because it's so hot I'll be serving it with a fresh garden salad and some homemade sourdough garlic bread. Yum!
  • I promised to make a new blanket for our grandson, and I fell in love with the Cozy Cottage Cable Throw pattern from MJ 's Off the Hook Designs. I recently found Michelle on YouTube and love watching her tutorials. This throw pattern is chunky and elegant, and Landon is going to love the warmth this adds to his reading corner.
  • Give your sewing room a facelift with a new Sewing Machine Cover using the free pattern from See Kate Sew. This is jelly roll friendly and there's an additional side pocket to store some of your favorite notions. A great way to protect your machine and refresh your sewing space for the creative year ahead.

And that's it for another week! I hope these projects keep you busy in the days ahead.

Enjoy the rest of your Sunday lovely! Stay safe and well.

Happy Week Ending :)
