Week Ending - February 2

Seven inspiring projects, seven talented makers! Quilting, crochet and baking links to inspire you to create every day of the week!

Happy Sunday lovely and welcome to a new month!

Ahhhh February! The shortest month of the year and a time to celebrate love, renewal, hope and romance. We celebrate a few important (to us) dates in February, and we live softly, cherishing the bonds of those who warm our hearts.

I found seven heartfelt projects to create for those you hold dear, so let's go:

  • A cute idea for a heartfelt snack are the Vegan Love Letter Pastries from The Little Blog of Vegan. These are easily adaptable with readymade pastry and fun to create. Delicate, flaky pastry shaped into envelopes, filled with jam and sealed with a pastry heart will declare your love this Valentine's Day.
  • Mahum has a Heart Shaped Crochet Cushion tutorial on her You Tube channel and it's such an easy way to add love to your home. The tutorial is fun to watch are there is a link provided for written instructions of rounds 6-12 on her website.

  • I love doiley patterns because they're an opportunity to create something visually stunning for any occasion. The Garden Party Round Placemat from Kirsten Holloway Designs is beautiful in a single colourway, but image shades of pink and red yarns for Valentines Day. Such a fun design that allows you to be creative and make your own unique version.
  • Looking for a creative way to present a gift card this Valentine's Day? Lella Boutique has a Free Stuffed Heart Pattern available which is super sweet and includes a pocket for gift cards or small gifts. A fun project with heartfelt intentions.

  • Sew a Love Note Mini Quilt to decorate your home using the free pattern from the Fat Quarter Shop. It's perfect for all quilting levels and there's a cross-stitch version as well to continue the love and create unique gifts. The cross stitch pattern is tempting me to pick up this craft again.
  • The Red Velvet Sandwich Cookie recipe from This Silly Girls Kitchen is on my list for our Valentine's Day celebration. Made using cake mix and filled with cream cheese frosting, these cookies look festive, delicious and easy to bake.
  • If you're looking for a fun free printable for Valentines Day, I found a collection on Planted Creative. The Valentine's Day Collection is at the end of the page (click load more and scroll to the end) and there are several simple but elegant ones available to download and print. A fun way to add something to your home for this season of love.

And that's it for another week. I hope these projects give you some creative ideas for this month of love and romance.

Enjoy the rest of your Sunday lovely! Stay safe and well! :)

Happy Week Ending :)
