Seven inspiring projects, seven talented makers! Quilting, crochet and baking links to inspire you to create every day of the week!
Happy Sunday lovely! I hope your week has been a creative one!
We're shifting slowly into the autumn season. The mornings are crisp with stunning sunrises that create a soft golden haze to our shorter days. I could not live in a place without four distinct seasons - as the end of one season looms, my mind and body crave the beautiful changes and opportunities of the next season, and the differences it presents to our daily lives.
Autumn includes Easter in the southern hemisphere and I'm oddly excited for this celebration. Our Easter's are generally low key but I'm ready to fully immerse myself into every experience and relish the delights of this special time of year. How about you?
My Week Ending posts will be Easter inspired for the next few weeks, so let's go:
- The Amigurumi Easter Egg pattern from Zeens and Roger is a versatile pattern you can use for free, and you can be creative and personalise the eggs with your own embroidery designs or crochet applique. There are some stunning examples in the blog post, and these look lovely in a gift basket or displayed in your home as Easter approaches.
- I'm eager to bake the Paska Easter Bread recipe from Recipes by Susan. This is a traditional Ukranian recipe with a light and fluffy texture and a golden crust. I could literally travel the world just to sample the different breads of every country, so I love finding recipes that not only look delicious but are achievable at home.
- There are many Easter themed quilt options to choose from but I love looking at scrappy quilts and imagining how my Easter fabric would work in them. The Feel The Tide PDF Quilt Pattern from Thimble and Needles would showcase any seasonal fabric perfectly. Mixed with coordinating fabrics you can stretch your stash and sew a quilt to treasure long after the season has passed. This pattern is available for purchase in her Etsy shop.
- Fill a dough bowl or the kids play kitchen with these Easy Vintage Farmhouse Crochet Carrots from Pretty Darn Adorable. The crochet pattern is free for you to use, and it looks super easy. They can be filled with Easter treats or stuffed with filling to use as decor.
- The highlight of my Easter is choosing a cake design to bake and decorate. I've begun my search for the perfect cake, and I found a tutorial for this simple yet stunning Easter Cake from Threads and Blooms. It's on my inspiration list because I adore the bird nest and because it's elegant and easy to recreate. A strong contender!
- The Crosses Quilt from Stephanie Sheridan is a free pattern available on the Windham Fabrics website. It's constructed with basic patchwork and the end result is stunning. If time is against you then consider making one section as a wall hanging. It's a beautiful quilt that will become an heirloom.
- You know I love a good planner, and Good Life of A Housewife has a free Easter Hosting Planner that will help you plan the perfect celebration. You will need to sign up to their email to receive the PDF file but it's cute, it covers a lot, and I think it's the perfect way to plan early and stay organised.
And that's it for this week. I'm ready to hop into Easter projects and I hope you are as well :)
Enjoy the rest of your Sunday lovely! Stay safe and well :)
