Seven inspiring projects, seven talented makers! Quilting, crochet and baking links to inspire you to create every day of the week.
Happy Sunday lovely! I hope your week has been kind.
My week was insane with minimal creative time, but I'll share two highlights. Our book club met at the cosiest cafe, and we discussed our autumn pick, The Bell Jar by Sylvia Plath. It was drizzling outside, there was an open fire, the food was the best and the atmosphere was relaxed and comforting - a beautiful way to spend an autumn day.
Our winter pick is the new novel from French author Maud Ventura, Make Me Famous - her debut novel My Husband was incredibly hard to put down, so I'm excited. I'd definitely recommend her if you're looking for a new author and a book that is a little unhinged but will blow your mind.
Then last night, Maddi came over for a Gilmore Girls inspired movie night. We chose two movies Rory and Lorelai watched in the series, ordered pizza, snacked on a mound of sweet treats and snuggled down, letting the noise of this week drift away.
I also spent a lot of time on Pinterest, so let's see what I found this week:
- This nanna has two little Bluey fans so when I saw the free crochet Heeler Hat Pattern from Two Thousand Stitches, I instantly pinned this for our grandchildren. Landon and Iris are mad about Bluey and Bingo and how cute will they look in these hats this winter? This is a must make for me!
- Tonight's dinner is the Chicken, Potato, Brie and Thyme Tart from Stuck In The Kitchen. It sounds warm and comforting and today I feel like leisurely working in the kitchen making dinner for the family with a whole lot of love. It's a great recipe for leftover chicken and I'm going to serve it with some steamed greens. Yum!
- The Scrap Explosion Quilt from Create Beautiful Quilts delivers on its name - it's a literal explosion of colour and design. There is a cutting list supplied and a YouTube video to guide you through the process. This quilt is all about enjoying the process and attacking those scrap bins with gusto, creating the ultimate scrappy quilt.
- I pinned the Banana Chamomile Tea Smoothie recipe from Yerba Mate Culture to try in our springtime. This fusion of flavours will calm and relax but also refresh you on warmer days. It's caffeine free and a healthier option which I'm sure you'll enjoy.
- The Harvest Flower Crochet Blanket pattern from Mama In A Stitch uses my all-time favorite yarn, Hue and Me. I pinned this so quickly because I love using the yarn and when I find a pattern that showcases the beauty and versatilty it goes straight on my list of must makes.
- Inspired Quilting by Lea Louise has a wonderful post called How to Make A Potato Chip Quilt Block Three Ways which might interest you. This is another versatile scrappy option and it's a fast way to create a visually stunning quilt.
- I'm going to end on a sweet note with the Cookies and Cream recipe from A Latte Food. Made with white chocolate chunks, crushed Oreo's and cream cheese, these cookies will satisfy that sweet craving. You don't need an occasion to bake cookies, so grab your ingredients and make everyone a special Sunday treat.
And that's it for another week. I hope the days ahead are creative for you (and me....please!).
Enjoy the rest of your Sunday lovely! Stay safe and well :)
Happy Week Ending :)
