Week Ending - August 17

Seven inspiring projects, seven talented makers! Quilting, crochet ad baking links to inspire you to create every day of the week!

Happy Sunday lovely! I hope you've had a special week.

Our granddaughter turned three! She's also a Leo so it was another week of little celebrations before her big "Bluey" party yesterday. So many wonderful memories made with our poppet.

Iris came into our lives like a wrecking ball. She's vivacious, cheeky, willful, spirited, inquisitive, loving, confident, too smart for her own good, independent, busy, sweet and sassy making every single day a wonderful adventure. She keeps us on our toes, and we wouldn't change her one little bit.

Happy 3rd birthday Miss Iris!

Let's take a look at the projects I found for you this week:

  • Connecting With Nature: Mindful Stitching and Textile Art Through The Seasons is a stunning and informative book by Tilly Rose. If you're looking to slow down and be mindful as you create, then this book will guide you through twelve seasonal projects using Mother Earth in every season. A wonderful resource.
  • Tonight's dinner is the Spicy Coconut Basil Chicken recipe from My Aunty Recipes. This looks delicious and will add a touch of tropical flair to our Sunday night. You can feel winter slowly drifting away and we're beginning to crave fresh flavours with minimal effort, so this recipe looks perfect.

  • Charmed, I'm Sure is a free mini quilt pattern on the Moda Fabrics website and this looks fun. It's beginner friendly, versatile and you can sew from your stash or use charm squares. Sew a mini quilt or add this block to any of your projects to give it something special.
  • The Esma Cape Crochet Cardigan is a free pattern from Lakeside Loops. It's inspired by macrame, requires basic knowledge of stitches and it's a wonderful addition to anyone's summer wardrobe. I love how flowy and light it appears and I'm eager to finally start this project ready for our upcoming spring/summer season.

  • How delicious do these Italian Cream Bombs (Bomboloni alla Crema) look from Recipes By Layla? Fried pastries filled with delicious rich custard are a staple in Italian bakeries and I can't wait to try this recipe. You can adapt the fillings using custard, chocolate or hazelnut and all three sound perfect to me.
  • Can we every have too many bags? No! The DIY Drawstring Bag with Handles from Sewing Time has been pinned on my must make board. This is a free pattern with video tutorial, and I think it's the perfect size for transporting projects on road trips etc. Super fun and very practical.
  • I also love this Crochet Backpack Pattern from The Caffeinated Snail. It has a Boho style, and I love the granny square texture. This is a free pattern for you to use and there are modification suggestions included to make it unique or better suit your requirements.

And that's it for another week. I hope you feel inspired and ready to create.

Enjoy the rest of your Sunday lovely! Stay safe and well :)

Happy Week Ending :)
