Week Ending - September 21

Seven inspiring projects, seven talented makers. Quilting, crochet and baking links to inspire you to create every day of the week.

Happy Sunday lovely! I hope your week has been kind.

I'm hosting a Mad Hatter's Tea Party for the spring equinox and it's all hands-on deck today as we finish the last of the patio refresh and hang some of the decorations in place. I've been collected mismatched cups, saucers and plates, a beautiful mirror, clocks, old books etc. and I've made bunting, garlands, flower arrangements and so much more. I'm excited to get our mad on!

How will you be celebrating the spring/autumn equinox?

Let's take a look at the projects I found for you this week:

  • Tonight's dinner will be the quick and easy Monterey Chicken Spaghetti recipe from Lady Savor. Juicy chicken pieces and cheesy spaghetti with fresh herbs makes this dish delicious and one you'll cook often. A great recipe to have in your files.
  • The Quilting Bible by Emma Stitchwood is a wonderful resource for quilters looking to cut costs with their craft and make projects without spending a fortune. There are 30 projects in this book with helpful tips, tricks and secrets for affordable quilting. If you're a Kindle Unlimited member, you can download this book as part of your membership.

  • Acorns are the staple decor item this year and MJ 's Off The Hook has a free Crochet Acorns pattern for you to try with two sizes included. They are fun, rustic and there is a video tutorial to help you. Simply sign up to receive the free pattern.
  • This week I made the French Strawberry Cake from Desserts and Drinks and its delicious. Our grandkids love strawberries, so this cake went fast. It's light and fluffy and the crunchy top and juicy strawberries make this the perfect dessert/snack idea. I'm baking it again for the Mad Hatter's Tea Party, it was that good.

  • If you love bright colours, pretty florals and spring themed fabrics then you'll love Honeyed Horizon from Keri Anguiano for Moda Fabrics. This fabric line is super pretty and the colours are vibrant and stunning. This range ships in March 2026 and one to pre-order or look out in your local quilt shop for next year.
  • I love the Eclipse Sweater Pattern from JSP Create. The Eclipse Granny Square block is stunning, and it makes a gorgeous sweater. The PDF pattern is available for purchase and includes six sizes (small - 3xl). Make sure you check out the rest of Jane's patterns, they are all beautiful.
  • How does a scrappy Quilted Tote Bag with sixteen pockets sound? Tamara from Remi Vale has combined two of her patterns to make the ultimate tote and it's a dream. The post includes links to the patterns, a list of materials you'll need and lots of information to help you to recreate a versatile tote of your own.

And that's it for another week. I hope you found a project to create.

Enjoy the rest of your Sunday lovely! Stay safe and well :)

Happy Week Ending :)
