Week Ending - September 28

Seven inspiring projects, seven talented makers. Quilting, crochet and baking links to inspire you to create every day of the week.

Happy Sunday lovely. I hope your week has been creative and fun.

It's time to hunt for Halloween projects to include in my Week Ending posts. I prefer not to spend money on cheap, junky decorations at this time of year, but I do love to add some handmade items to our celebrations, so for the next few weeks I'll share what I've found.

I worked on a project yesterday while watching the AFL Grand Final. It's a trio of crochet ghosts which are easy to crochet and so adorable. I'll share the link in next week's post.

But for now, let's see what I found for you this week:

  • How adorable are the Crochet Ghost and Pumpkin Hangers from Tiem Be Con? This is a free pattern with a video tutorial to walk you through the process and they're super sweet. You could hang them on bags, your rear-view mirror, in windows and so much more. Cute and fun.
  • Sew Very Crafty has a fun tutorial for a Halloween Trick or Treat Basket that looks quick and easy so you can make multiples for the family. The tutorial is clear and concise, and the bag is a nice size making it perfect for collecting sweet treats or gifting to your loved ones.

  • I love the Easy Pizza-Stuffed Pumpkins from The Recipe Mom. If you're entertaining this Halloween, these are fun alternative to sweet snacks, and the kids would enjoy helping with the preparation. They'll look adorable on a plate and add a wonderful savory element to your table.
  • If you love C2C crochet, then you'll adore the free Ghost Reading Book C2C Blanket Pattern from Magic Yarn Pixels. He's a little cutie and perfect for young readers. The blanket is bright and cheerful, and my grandchildren would love him. I've added this to my list.

  • Grab some Halloween charm squares and black fabric and make your own Spooktacular Halloween Quilt just like Quiltineering. She talks you through her process, giving great tips and clear directions on how she put her quilt together. This one looks fun.
  • How about baking some Moon Spell Cookies? This recipe can be found on the Sugar Maple Farmhouse website and it's an Austrian moon shaped vanilla cookie that's flaky and cake like. A plate of these would add a fun mystical touch to enchant your guests.
  • I absolutely love the Halloween Ornament Pattern from Designing Cheerfully. These cute designs can be strung together as a garland, added individually to gifts or hung on an old branch as a decoration, or they could be used on plaques or scattered on your Halloween table. The pattern includes nine designs and is available as an instant download on Etsy.

And that's it for another week. I hope these projects have you thinking about creating for Halloween.

Enjoy the rest of your Sunday lovely. Stay safe and well :)

Happy Week Ending :)
