Week Ending - December 7

Seven inspiring projects, seven talented makers! Quilting, crochet and baking links to inspire you to create every day of the year!

Happy Sunday lovely! I hope your week has been creative.

The first week of December is always exciting for me. Everything feels magical, and there's new memories to be made with family traditions and this year's festivities.

Looking at Christmas through the eyes of our grandchildren, brings me so much joy. They're in a constant state of awe, and it's been a week of connection, laughter, too much food and lots of infectious excitement.

I hope Christmas is a stress-free time for you and that you find time to relax and create. Here's seven ideas which will inspire you during this wonderful season:

  • The Snowflake Square from Urbaki Crochet is stunning. The snowflake delicately floats in the square's background, and this is a wonderful pattern to have saved or pinned. There is a video tutorial to walk you through the steps but no written pattern, so grab a pen and take notes. Perfect for all your Christmas crochet projects.
  • The Easy Peppermint Ice Cream recipe from Molly's Home Guide looks festive, sounds delicious and it's something you can make ahead of time and cross off your list. This recipe requires an ice cream maker but it's quick to prepare and sure to be a favorite with your guests.

  • Looking for a quick and easy quilt pattern? The Gift Boxes Layer Cake Quilt Pattern from Tiny Orchard Quilts is a free pattern for you to download and such a fun design. There's a YouTube video to walk you through the steps and this design allows you to be as scrappy as you like and whip up blocks very quickly. So festive and fun!
  • Make gift tags or ornaments with the Crochet Holly Leaf Ornament Pattern from Stitch By Fay. This yarn busting project is also a sweet gift in Christmas cards or you could applique it on jumpers, cushions, blankets etc. to add that Christmas touch. It's too cute not to try.

  • How delicious does the Cranberry and Brie Pull Apart Bread from Tasty Flavor look? There are quite a few options or alternatives in this blog post so you can customise it to your own tastes. I can't wait to try this as part of our Christmas Eve celebrations. I'm sure it will delight my family.
  • The simple and minimalist Evergreen Wreath Pattern from Lake Girls Quilts is a stunning mini quilt pattern available as a free pattern on their website. It's beginner friendly and you can whip this up quickly for your own decor or as a last-minute gift. Gorgeous.
  • If you spend your evenings snuggled up with yarn and a Christmas movie, you might like the Christmas Gnome C2C Blanket Pattern from Hooked On Homemade Happiness. I love C2C and this pattern is a small lapghan size and it should work up quickly. The gnome is super cute and he'll add some festive fun to your home this Christmas.

And that's it for another week. I hope these wonderful projects bring you relaxation and joy over the Christmas season.

Enjoy the rest of your Sunday lovely! Stay safe and well :)

 Happy Week Ending :)
