The simple, fun and versatile Nine Patch Block. When I was teaching my Country Sampler quilt, this was the block we started with. Watching the joy in someones face when they completed their first block was wonderful!! This humble little block is responsible for a few addicted quilters out there!
These fabrics are gorgeous......they are Simple Abundance by Bonnie and Camille and I just love the strong colours and the wonderful paisleys!! I need to make quite a few more of these blocks for a new design Im working on. Fun!!!
Almost as much fun as a lazy afternoon spent skimming stones (or in Cohens case...throwing stones lol) into the river!!
Reminds you to treasure the simple things in life!!!
does this new design have triangles in it???? lol
ReplyDeleteLove this line too!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful fabric line! Love the 9-patch blocks!
ReplyDeleteThis fabric line is very attractive! Perfect for your nine patch blocks.
ReplyDeleteI started with a 9 patch quilt back in 1990. It took me 13 years to finish (I sort of gave up on quilting in the interim) but it eventually got done. Your fabrics are lovely and now I quilt all the time. lol
ReplyDeleteHappy quilting,
Susan
You're right. My beginning piecing class taught us these as part of it and I was hooked!
ReplyDeleteNine patches are one of my favorites. Oh how I would love to escape to those rocks by the stream and soak up some sun.
ReplyDeleteI love nine-patch too...so effective! Cathyx
