The girls in my Saturday class, were discussing how their daughters didnt show any interest in sewing (mine included) so we decided to arrange a mother/daughter sewing day and what better way to tempt them than learning to make a teddy bear!!:
Of course the first decision was which bear to make and it was a difficult choice, they were all so cute. Then we had to chose the fur, now this was fun.....everyone chose something different, from the traditional gold to a soft lilac!! Then it was time for action:
There was lots of talking, lots of laughs but also that important bonding time between mothers and daughters as we worked together!!:
Pauline wanted us to handsew the bears head, which wasnt a favorite with the daughters but they all managed to do a great job!!
The mothers helped out with the machine sewing of the body parts and then it was time to join it all together. Of course the daughters got a lot more done than the mothers:
Maddis bear is the white one........looks like Ive got a fair bit of "catch-up" homework with mine before we head out again to finish them off!!

A great idea! Looks like everyone had a wonderful time and a few more bears were born. *s*
ReplyDeleteGreat idea. I tried a mother/daughter sewing day with Gemma. It didn't go well. She reckons that I sew so she doesn't have to!
