Week Ending (June 17)

Happy Sunday! How's your week been? I've had fun playing with my Pepper and Flax bundle and also adding the final touches to a few projects I'm bringing to the blog very soon; can't wait to share these with you :)
I have seven fun links for you this week, so lets see what made my list:

  • Quilting Digest has a great article on Preventing Quilts from Fading. Its important to care for you quilts correctly so give this article a read and keep your quilts fresh and bright for as long as possible.
  • Who doesn't love a good Pavlova? Its a gorgeous dessert and Taste have a Pav In A Cup recipe which looks yummo. You have to watch the video so grab a pen and paper first to take down notes :)
  • Bulky intersections make it difficult to achieve flat seams for quilting but you can fan your seams to achieve a smooth and even quilt top.  Fanning Seam Allowances from All People Quilt is a great resource to help you out.
  • The daughter of a friend is having a baby so I was looking for a little crocheted rattle to include with a baby blanket in her shower gift. I love this Giraffe Baby Rattle from Amigurumi Today, its super cute and looks manageable.
  • I also offered to do some cooking for the baby shower and I'm thinking about trying this Baklava Cheesecake. Looks pretty yummy doesn't it?
  • No matter how big or small your sewing room/area is, good organisation is always the key. There are so many ideas out there but I love these ones from Sewing 101 With Karen. I love clever people :)
  • And lastly, regardless of what my hubby says, you can never have too many scarves (hahahahaha). I'm adding this Easy Puff and Lace Crochet Triangle Scarf to my must make list. Its gorgeous!
So that's it for another week. I hope you found something new to try or something to inspire. I'm spending my Sunday in Threadbare HQ, sewing to my hearts content. I hope you find some creative time too.
Happy Week Ending :)

  1. Rose, I look forward to seeing a new email each Sunday announcing you have a new post on your blog. Your posts are always welcoming and encouraging. I can sense your enthusiasm and it helps me to think about getting up and finishing some of my own projects. Of course, you tempt me to think about all kinds of new projects, which is so much fun. Thanks for keeping your blog going !

    1. Thanks so much Sue! That's so sweet of you. I love these Sunday posts, they are so fun to write and its a way for me to "brain dump" all the ideas I see/read/think about during the week. I also write them in my journal and then I work my way through the lists and I feel more focused :) Enjoy your new week :)
