Week Ending - April 19

Seven inspiring projects, seven talented makers! Quilting, crochet and baking links to inspire you to create, every day of the week!

Happy Sunday lovely! How has your week been? I've felt unmotivated this week, and I've had trouble sinking my teeth into any one project. I have been reading lots and watching a few fascinating documentaries on archaeology - Cohen is researching for an assignment!

No matter what's going on in the world, books whisk you off to another place, so if you're looking for some recommendations then I suggest you take a look at these - Gulliver's Wife by Lauren Chater, Little Fires Everywhere by Celeste Ng and Phosphorescence by Julia Baird (life changing). All so different, yet all so amazing!

I did find seven wonderful projects to inspire you (and hopefully me) this week, so let's go!

  • You may have seen a lot of bloggers or instagramers trying the Reverse Tie Dye or Shibori Method on pyjama's or sweatshirts.  It's simply using bleach on your garments to give them the tie dye effect, and its a growing trend on social media. This tutorial from One Craf DIY Gal shows you how to do it!
  • I love this Crochet Amigurumi Bee pattern from Mandy at Crochet Redagape. It's a free pattern and you could add it to your Spring wreaths or decor, or pop them in gifts to add a little cheer. Grabs your yarns and buzz over to Mandy's blog for the pattern.
  • Now's the time to try something new, so how about this DIY Coconut Milk Soap with Lavender from Rebecca at Soap Deli News. She has shared her recipe and these would make lovely gifts, especially with Mother's Day right around the corner!

  • There's Carrot Cake recipes everywhere at the moment, but how about Carrot Cake Pancakes? Mmmm, these look and sound divine! There's lots of tips and tricks in this post for making these pancakes, and they are a healthier option. Can't wait to try these!
  • Have you seen Corey Yoder's gorgeous Goodness Grows Quilt Top yet? This is a quilt pattern she designed for FQS Sew Sampler Subscription and she's just revealed the full top. It's perfect for Spring or to brighten any season really, and all the details for purchasing kits or patterns is now on her blog.
  • Suzy Quilts has a Grow Sew Along happening at the moment, and this quilt is super modern and fun! It's not too late to join in and you will need to purchase the pattern. Suzy designs show stopping quilts, and this quilt will make a dramatic statement in any room of your home. She offers lots of support and tips to help you every step of the way, and sew alongs are always so much fun so join in!

  • And lastly, Daisy Farm Crafts released a Crochet Griddle Stitch Stripe Baby Blanket pattern and this is super sweet. I adore all of their pattern but there's nothing like a cute striped blanket. It's a free pattern and a good one for your yarn stash as shopping these days is difficult.

And that's it for another week. I hope these projects got your creative juices pumping and gave you some inspiration for future projects.

Next week on the blog, I'm sharing a super easy, four ingredient dessert recipe and in my Classic Quilt Blocks series, I've put together a post full of my favorite Spool quilts to help you plan your own quilts. There's lots of fun designs in this post and some very different takes on the humble spool block.

Enjoy the rest of your Sunday lovely! Stay safe and healthy!

Happy Week Ending :)
