Good morning lovely! I hope you're busy sewing Christmas gifts and projects!
Our family intention this Christmas is to keep things simple and to be present for all those precious moments like decorating the tree, singing carols, reading Christmas stories to the grandkids and baking nostalgic recipes.
We're going with the less is more mentality, so today I have a sweet but simple Christmas Tree block or mini quilt pattern for you to piece. This is such a fun and versatile block and it's perfect for all your festive projects.
At my core I'm a paper piecing girl, but I thought I'd switch it up and design a traditionally pieced tree. It feels like forever since I pieced traditionally, and I love how this block finished up. There are some stitch and flip corners to make it easy for you, but basically, it's simple piecing for everyone to enjoy!
The Christmas Tree block pattern is perfect for scraps, and you can mix and match colour palettes to suit your theme this year. You'll need some 2" strips, and you can include Christmas prints or any of your festive favorites.
I made mini quilts from my blocks for the Landon and Iris's bedrooms, (I've included those instructions in the pattern also) but you can use it for any project - make a full-sized quilt with lots of Christmas Tree blocks, or use it for cushions, table runners or anything your creativity can imagine.
The block finishes at 12" square, so it's a generous block size and a quick finish if you want a mini quilt to gift or to decorate a space in your home in a hurry.
The Christmas Tree PDF pattern includes step by step instructions and coloured diagrams to make piecing your block/mini quilt quick and easy. There are also optional instructions for adding a hanging sleeve or corner hangers to display your mini quilt.
There's also a colouring sheet to help you plan your blocks prior to piecing, so get creative - don't forget to print extra copies for the kids to colour so you get uninterrupted sewing time! ;)
The Christmas Tree PDF pattern is now available in my Etsy shop, at the low price of $2.99 (AU + taxes where applicable).

I hope you have fun with this Christmas Tree pattern. I had a blast making these little minis and I enjoyed the change from my usual paper piecing - it's fun to switch it up and sew something different!
Let me know what you make with this pattern. I love seeing your creativity!
Enjoy!
