Decorating for Halloween can be subtle and inviting. I'm not one for spooky, plastic decorations but these 7 Halloween Crochet Doily Patterns have me reached for the yarn and hook!
As part of my Halloween decorating prep, I wanted to make a festive doily for our home. There are so many wonderful designs out there and the choice was hard, but I have settled on my favorite and purchased the yarn.
You can turn any doily pattern into something for Halloween by simply using themed colours - orange, yellow, black, green, purple or white.
I'm ready to start crocheting but I thought I'd share 7 Halloween Doily Patterns with you and encourage you to pick up the hook, relax and create something fun and beautiful for the season.
Let's go:
The design I've choose is the Trick or Treat Doily by Elizabeth Ann White for Bella Crochet.
This is a free pattern, and I think it's stunning. I adore the flower centre and the black fleur de lis picot. The shell border around the flower adds lovely texture and frames the flower perfectly.
It is an intermediate pattern, and it finishes at around 12" across. I'm looking forward to working on this over the next few nights.
If you love this pattern as much as I do, then you can find the free pattern HERE which also includes a link to an ad free paid version to support her fabulous work!
I also really love the Spooky Soiree Crochet Doily Pattern from Julia Hart of Draiguna. I wish I had time to do this design as well (next year perhaps).
This intricate design has hidden treasures and it's delicate and sweet. The PDF pattern includes two versions - the candy corn or skulls - and some of the reviews say it is challenging but fun.
This pattern is available as an instant download in her Etsy shop HERE and make sure you check out some of her other gorgeous listings as well.
The Boo! Crochet Doily Pattern from Martha Glassner is a popular design, and you can see why - those little ghosts are adorable.
If you're looking for a pattern that encapsulates the spooky season without being terrifying, then this must be the one.
The difficulty rating for this pattern is advanced beginner to intermediate and it finishes around 13-14" inches across. There is a graph included as well and there are some pattern corrections on the listing, so make a note of those.
You can download the free pattern HERE.
Another popular pattern from Martha is the Jack-In-The-Web Crochet Doily Pattern and this one is fun!
Cheerful pumpkins caught in spider webs makes a clever and decorative design. Martha says it's quick and simple and it finishes at around 11"-12".
This would look great on any table but how fun would it be to sit it under your Halloween snack bowl next to your crafting chair.
This is another free pattern from Martha, and you can download it HERE.
Spider Web Doily Pattern from Free Vintage Crochet is delicate, intricate and stunning. it's not scary but it fits the Halloween season perfectly.
It reminds me of those winter mornings when the dew sparkles on the spider webs and you can see the amazing work the little arachnoids do in the garden.
It's a detailed design and pattern and it is free for you to crochet.
You can find the free pattern HERE.
If you love cats, you'll love the Shadow Cat Pinwheel Crochet Doily Pattern from Kious Kreations.
This is a stunning design, and I think I'd keep this out as decor all year round. The cute cats have curled tails, and their eyes are raised off the design - so fun and intricate!
This is available in her Etsy shop as an instant download HERE and be sure to check out her other listings, just stunning work!
And lastly, Elizabeth Ann White from Bella Crochet also has the Celeste: A Crinoline Lady Doily Pattern and this is adorable.
Why not a witch in a wide, hooped skirt looking all elegant and sophisticated? Such a different take on the stereotypical witch attire.
The background is crocheted as one piece, and the witch is crocheted in separate sections and glued to the doily.
The pattern is an intermediate level and is free to use HERE.
I wish I had time to crochet all 7 Halloween Crochet Doily Patterns. It was hard to choose which one I wanted to crochet, but I have bookmarked all of them for future Halloweens.
I'm going to make a cup of coffee, switch on Practical Magic and spend some time working on the Trick or Treat Crochet Doily Pattern from Bella Crochet.
Which doily will you start with?
