Week Ending - December 22

Seven inspiring projects, seven talented makers! Quilting, crochet and baking links to inspire you to create every day of the week!

Happy Sunday lovely! I hope the lead up to this festive season has been a kind one!

Christmas is almost here, and this will be my last post for 2024. I'm taking some time off to love on my grandchildren, family and friends and enjoy the magic of the season.

2024 has been a very creative year for me and juggling everything while nurturing and caring for my family has been exhausting but sooooo much fun. I've enjoyed talking to you, sharing emails and chats about life and crafting, helping and encouraging when you needed some advice and creating and finding projects that inspire you to create every single day! Let's do it all again in 2025!

Today's Week Ending post is not filled with more projects to overwhelm you in the last few days before Christmas, but with links to articles that might add some sparkle to your celebrations:

  • A mug of Homemade Eggnog and a cheesy Christmas movie is the perfect way to unwind after a busy day of preparations. I've been using Tastes Better From Scratch recipe and trust me, you'll never buy store brought again. This reminded me of my mum's eggnog, and I was instantly transported to Christmas Eve's of my childhood.
  • Style Curator has 50 of the Most Beautiful Christmas Gift Wrapping Ideas and there's everything from fabric wrapped gifts to potato stamped paper to inspire you. There are ways to decorate your gifts and some wonderful sustainable ideas to save our landfills.

  • Keep the kids busy while you get ready for Christmas with the DIY Hand-Painted Cookie Plate from HGTV. It's such a fun idea and a lovely keepsake of the season. I sent this link to Madeline earlier in the week and she's helping our grandchildren decorate their cookie plates today.
  • Forgotten someone on your Christmas list? Why not make a batch of Homemade Spiced Roasted Nuts from This Silly Girls Kitchen? They are a healthier option, a fast make and bake and you can present them in a lovely jar decorated for the season.
  • Wind down after a long day present shopping or wrapping with some Hallmark Christmas Movies. Cheesy movies take the edge off the silly season and they're not intellectually stimulating which is exactly what we need. Put your feet up and escape the hustle and bustle for just awhile.

{If cheesy movies are not your thing, I watched Three Days of Christmas on Netflix earlier in the week and it had me captivated for three hours. This Spanish subtitled series is set in three time periods and it's an emotional journey of family, love, loss, secrets, betrayals and loyalties. A must watch!}

  • Kat from The Organised Housewife has some great tips for How To Host Christmas Day. She covers everything from recipes and Christmas playlists to cleaning your home ready for your guests and family.

And that's it for 2024 lovely! I'll be back January 5th, 2025, and we'll do it all over again.

Thank you so much for your support and encouragement this year. I'm blessed to have you visit my blog and read what I share. I hope this festive season is wonderful for you and your family, and don't forget to take some time for you - you deserve it!

Merry Christmas lovely! Stay safe and well and I hope Santa is good to you!

Happy Week Ending :)
