Seven inspiring projects, seven talented makers! Quilting, crochet and baking links to inspire you to create every day of the week!
Happy Sunday lovely! I hope you're doing well and being creative.
I apologise for being away for the last few weeks. Our family was hit with a nasty virus just before Easter and it lingered, and lingered and lingered!
Have you ever noticed your inspiration levels are at their highest when you're unwell? Scrolling on Pinterest had me craving time in the studio or the kitchen, yet I had no energy to do anything. I did pin lots of fun projects, brain dumped new designs and ideas for the blog and placed several online orders for crafty supplies.
This week I felt more human and creative, making Mother's Day exploding boxes, birthday cards for hubby, baking up everyone's favorite recipes, attending an amazing book launch and creating with the grandchildren. It's good to be back!
Let's take a look at a small portion of projects I found inspiring:
- I found a wonderful store on Etsy selling embroidery patterns and every design is breathtaking. Curly Stitch Studio sells the design with different sizes included. There are also suggested DMC colours and a finished product photo for inspiration (no actual stitching instructions). There are suggested stitching techniques but how you stitch it is up to you. If you're an experienced embroiderer then you'll absolutely fall in love with all her designs.
- I was quick to pin the Pistachio Cake from Sally's Baking Addiction. This looks divine and reading some of the reviews sealed the deal. It's a soft buttery layer cake with cream cheese frosting. It promises real pistachio flavour in a cake and I'm beyond excited to try this one.
- Tonight's dinner is the Chunky Mushroom and Celery Soup from Riverten Kitchen. Soups have helped us heal from this virus and I love nothing more than a good mushroom dish. The earthy flavour warms the soul on a cold autumn day, and this recipe looks quick and easy for a Sunday night dinner.
- I was inspired by scrappy quilts patterns that looked cosy and homey and the Timber Quilt from A Bit of Scrap Stuff caught my eye. This is a beginner friendly scrappy quilt pattern, and I just loved its simplicity and how inviting the fabrics made this quilt feel - very snuggly! The pattern is linked for purchase in her blog post.
- The Peony Petal Blanket Pattern from the girls at Daisy Cottage Designs is a quick chunky blanket with an intricate design achieved with simple crochet stitches. The thicker yarn means less work and a speedy project, and I simply love everything they create. Make sure to check out their other patterns as well - you'll find so many to love.
- You can add a touch of personality to your desk or home office using the No Sew Mouse Pad tutorial from Funky and Delightful. This quick and easy project requires one fat quarter, some glue and cork. It's a fun way to surround yourself with your favorite fabric even when you're working.
- We're heading towards winter, and I love, love, love the Slouchy Hat Crochet Pattern from Hopelessly Devoted Crochet. It's a free pattern using lightweight yarn and you can make one in a few hours. There are tips for resizing and I have my yarn selected and ready to crochet a slouchy hat for everyone.
And that's it for this week lovely! I hope your feeling inspired to create.
Enjoy the rest of your Sunday lovely! Stay safe and well :)
Happy Week Ending :)
