Week Ending - June 8

Seven inspiring projects, seven talented makers! Quilting, crochet and baking links to inspire you to create every day of the week!

Happy Sunday lovely! How has your week been?

Autumn is fading and we're embracing the frosty cold weather of winter. The brisk air, the warm layers, the hearty dishes and cosy atmosphere create a magical season with unique charms. There's a serene quietness that muffles the noise and chaos, and the world seems to slow down - while nature rests, so do we.

Earlier in the week, Maddi and I took Miss Iris to the library. Nestled in a chair far too big for her, she was reading That's Not My Dragon (IYKYK) and behind her the late morning sun streamed through the windows and the crisp leaves danced in the cold wind. As I watched her, my whole world stood still - a perfect moment, not captured on my phone but imprinted on my heart!

Our winters are dramatic and intense, but in the peace and quiet there's beauty and magic in every ordinary moment.

Let's see what projects I found for you this week:

  • Tonight's dinner is the Creamy Rotisserie Chicken Mushroom Soup recipe from Friendly Well. Soup is the ultimate comfort food, and this recipe uses tender chicken, warming aromatics and earthy mushrooms. It's a long weekend here so I'm making a double batch for quick and easy meals.
  • Tilda's World has the most stunning Walk In The Park Pillow - Free Pattern on their site and this gazebo is everything. It's sweet and simple but it will take you on a walk in the warm sunshine, birds chirping and a quiet place to read or watch the world go by. Such a pretty pattern.

  • How gorgeous is the Free C2C Wallflowers Blanket from Highland Hickory Designs? The black yarn makes those flowers pop and float on this double side blanket. The graph is free for you to download but if you need the written instructions there is a link to her Etsy shop to purchase the pattern. So beautiful!
  • I also fell in love with Highland Hickory Designs Daisies C2C Blanket. This is also a free graph download with the option to purchase the PDF pattern in her Etsy shop and once you start browsing her patterns it's very hard to leave - everything is gorgeous!

  • While we're embracing winter, some of you are moving into summer and the Midsummer Mini Quilt Pattern from Prairie Quilt Co. is the perfect way to celebrate the warmth and beauty of your season. This pattern is available as a PDF download in their Etsy shop and the soft pinks, sunny yellows and lush greens make this little cutie a wonderful project for summer.
  • Do you love Arancini? Cool Bean Cooking has a recipe for Sicilian Rice (Arancini) Casserole that looks delicious. This casserole takes deep-fried arancini balls to a healthier option, but it's still loaded with traditional flavours. I need to try this!
  • Have you seen the stunning Redwork Embroidery BOM Blocks from Days Filled With Joy? This nine block free BOM started in February and will run until November. The Snowflakes are delicate and gorgeous, and you'll have a new quilt by Christmas.

And that's it for another week. I hope these projects inspire your creative days ahead.

Enjoy the rest of your Sunday lovely! Stay safe and well :)

Happy Week Ending :)
