Week Ending - November 23

Seven inspiring projects, seven talented makers. Quilting, crochet and baking links to inspire you to create every day of the week.

Happy Sunday lovely! How has your week been?

After a small rearrange in our home, I was left with a space which sparked an idea, which led to me creating a fun and festive Gingerbread Village.

It's not perfect and I had no real plan, but I kept adding decorations and changing things as each house came alive. I adapted several house templates I found on Cricut Design Space, and I glued and glued, letting my inner child create a festive wonderland - I also stole trees from hubby's model train supplies, and the little wooden train was an impulse buy at the supermarket.

I had so much fun! It instantly lifted me out of my bah humbug funk and I'm itching to decorate the house on December 1st.

Have you created anything yet for Christmas? Perhaps one of these seven projects will inspire you. Let's go:

  • How sweet are the Christmas Tree Crochet Pot Holders from Nana's Crafty House? They're a double thick square making them insulated and durable and the appliqued tree is adorable. The pattern is easy to follow, and your kitchen will have a festive feel all season long. I love these and it's a portable project I can work on whenever I have a chance, during the busy weeks ahead.
  • I have to share an Etsy shop I recently found, and this shop has the most gorgeous Christmas prints. I purchased the Vintage Christmas Tree Print and it's minimal yet stunning. There are so many wonderful prints available at very affordable prices, and they'll add a little vintage to your Christmas. I'm having this printed large as a statement piece for our entryway.

  • We celebrate Christmas during summer in the southern hemisphere, so I'm making the Christmas Ice Cream Pudding from Marcellina In Cucina. I've made this before and it was a huge hit. Our Christmas Eve celebrations are a full day/night affair and it's very relaxed with crafts, movies, stories, a BBQ, yummy treats and some present swapping. This recipe is easy and it's delicious and the grandkids will be super excited.
  • The Oh Christmas Tree Quilt Pattern from The Pattern Basket is simple yet stunning. A forest of twenty-one trees set in the shape of a tree is so clever and it's sure to delight. This is a wonderful scrap busting pattern, and the PDF file can be purchased in their Etsy shop as an instant download.

  • You know I love Sarah from Repeat Crafter Me. She has the best crochet patterns, and she's just released the Easy Crochet Angel Ornament ready for Christmas. These angels are super sweet and made from two round crochet circles. This would be a fun project to do with the kids - crochet a heap of circles and help them glue and construct their own angels. So fun!
  • Geta's Quilting Studio has a Bundle of Eight Christmas Ornaments available in her store as an instant download. Each star or wreath is a great scrap busting project and they're all so sweet. Your tree could be filled with wonderful fabric goodness this year.
  • Everyone loves a trifle at Christmas so add the Mary Berry Christmas Apricot Trifle to your menu. The combination of apricots, almond, vanilla custard and thick whipped cream will delight your guests and add a sweet treat to your celebrations.

And that's it for another week. I hope these projects have inspired you to create.

Enjoy the rest of your Sunday lovely! Stay safe and well :)

Happy Week Ending :)
