Week Ending - March 16

Seven inspiring projects, seven talented makers! Quilting, crochet and baking links to inspire you to create every day of the week!

Happy Sunday lovely! I hope your week has been creative and fun!

I love browsing the seasonal decor at Kmart, Target, Shiploads and the supermarkets. You never know what inexpensive gems you'll find, and they allow you to create a wonderful celebration for your family without blowing the budget. This year's theme will be inspired by the cutest melamine plates I found at The Reject Shop for $2 each.
How adorable are these? I love the soft colours and the vintage vibe. They're a generous size and they look great layered on my white dinner plates. My Reject Shop had a stack of these plates in assorted designs, but this bunny was the sweetest and completely stole my heart.

Have you chosen your theme for Easter yet? Perhaps today's Week Ending projects will help you. Let's hop to it:

  • The Rabbit Brooch from Imanufatti is so sweet and there is a free tutorial for you to use to recreate your own version. Made of soft felt and embroidered with simple flowers this brooch is sweet, cosy and cuddly and perfect for Easter.
  • Homemade Hot Cross Buns are the best and this year I'm using the Best Sourdough Hot Cross Buns Recipe from The Clever Carrot. These look perfectly plump with a tender texture, and they're glazed with apricot jam which sounds delicious. I love the tangy flavour my sourdough (Cecil) brings to baked goods. He's almost seven years old and we create well together.

  • The Patchwork Egg Mugrug from A Spoonful of Sugar is delightful. Decorate your desk or your Easter table with this clever project that incorporates the Ohio Star Block. Patterns are available to purchase in Lisa's shops and they're available as a PDF download, so you can begin sewing straight away.
  • There's nothing cuter than the grandkids sitting at the Easter table in bunny ears, and this year I'm crocheting the Easy Crochet Bunny Ears from Jenny and Teddy. These are super cute and beginner friendly and take around 30 minutes to crochet. Fun!
  • I'm making truffles for my (big) children this year and I'm using three recipes. The Easter Oreo Truffles from Homeland flavours, the Easter Egg Marshmallow Creme Truffles from Taste & Tell, and the Lemon White Chocolate Truffles from Nabeela Food Hub. My kids are all grown up and every year their favorite eggs just don't taste the same anymore, but mum's cooking makes everyone happy.

  • My project next week is the Crochet Easter Bunny Pattern from Handmade V. This delightful egg-shaped bunny will work perfectly with other handmade eggs on my Easter tree. I'll add a hanger and crochet three of them. Super cute and a very well written free pattern with photos.
  • For my craft girls, I'm sewing the Bunny Bags from Sew a Little Something. They're super simple and the full tutorial is available on YouTube. I might tweak the faces a little and use fabrics I know each girl will love. They are the biggest sweet tooths so filling these with goodies will be fun and very well received.

And that's it for another week. I hope these projects inspired you to start creating for Easter.

Enjoy the rest of your Sunday lovely! Stay safe and well :)

Happy Week Ending :)
